Radar does not load. Save your money and stick with the free version. Developer please fix this problem or stop charging for an incomplete app. Several reviews say the exact same thing. The ONLY reason I gave 2 stars instead of 1 is I like the color change from blue to black.....plus I can't stand ads......fix fix fix....

One of the distinguishing features of this app used to be it's radar forecast loop. Not any more! The radar loop freezes; useless. What used to be a solid 4 star app has deteriorated with this upgrade. Buyer beware.

I've looked at many and TWC stands out!

The only thing I gained with the Max version is 6 hour future predicted radar. If there is any rain in the area, it will not ever load unless I am on wifi. Neat app if you are on wifi most of the time but a waste of $3.99 other wise. There are no ads but is that worth the price? I wish I had stuck with the free version.

Overall, I think this is the best all-purpose weather App out there right now.

Still not as good as Weatherbug.

not always accurate. All of the weather apps including weatherbug has on next Monday high of 87 with Partly sunny and this app said T-storms with a high of 76. It was an great update and I love the black backround but please tell the right weather. I don't want to go outside when it said it's going to rain and there's not even a cloud in the sky!

What did you do?? Take the free version and make it say "max". This app needs a major overhaul. Missing tons of features you would expect In a "max" version. Add barometric pressure and push. 3 stars til' upgrade comes with more features and a new interface that really screams MAX!!!!!

I had the free version for a while. Worked great, looped maps loaded plenty fast and still do. Now I also have the Max version. Maps definately load slower and maybe that is the future maps having to load. Just got the latest update that suggested a faster load time, and it slightly is with the buffering. However, it is still significantly slower than the free version. I know makes no sense. The free version does have ads at top which make the map space smaller, although the play menu used to be transparent so it wasn't so bad. The max version, as long as I have had it never had the transparency, so really size wasn't really any better than free version. Now free version has no transparency, so max version may have a little more map space. Wait though, the last update for max added a date and time bar acroos the entire bottom width unlike the free version which is only about half. Why does the app keep getting worse. Stop taking away map space. And please make the "future" an optional on max if one would prefer load time that is atleast equivalent to free version. Still a great app to have, i just don't see any added benifit to the max version. But wait, you say you want storm watch and severe weather. Well, I have yet to see that be anything other than text bullitens. Just get the free version. Strangly enough, it is actually better.

I have really enjoyed this application, but the change to a black UI is really hideous. To the makers off this app, please change it back to the old look

Go to the free weather channel app and look at the top advertisment for weather channel max and click on it. This will redirect you to the app store. Scroll down and u will see it says the 1.5 version. Download this and u will have the new version 

Best weather app

Very nice update! Still desperately needs offline viewing (cache the info) and real dates for the 36 Hour Forecast. The current way is vague if looked at late at night. Also, the name "Max" for the app is dumb.

People: calm down- the black screenshots are here. It is not worth getting this upset over an app. Wonder how you all would deal with a real problem in your lives!

The "TruPoint" radar prediction engine is a joke. It is supposed to show you where the storm will be, unlike all the "others" that show radar history. I am watching a Severe Thunderstorm growing quickly and bearing down on Stillwater, OK as I write this (NOAA Alert Active). Where will it be in the next 15 minutes?! VANISHED from the radar! 30 Minutes? VANISHED from the radar!! This would be a first in meteorological history. "TruPoint" is "TruCrap". Do not waste your money.

future weather dosent work and screen shots look nothing like the app

Pretty much the same as the free weather channel app! For $3.99 you expect alitlle more like maybe the application would work in landscape! Maybe add projected path of storm like they do on tv because the future cast radar is junk! Hopefully there is some updates coming soon! Hold off buying until more features come, or until it goes on sale for $0.99! Please add landscape support across this app!

This app is a little overpriced for what it gives you. To improve it you should add landscape support and push notifications. Also the future radar is distorted and doesn't show the whole weather system that your in So add those and more and then this app will be worth it.

I think it would be great if the premium paid version you add push notifications for any severe weather alerts!! This alone would make this app 100%!!!!

This is an okay app. The future track needs to have forward and backward buttons instead of the slidder, and you should be able to pause the future track. Look forward to an update!!!!!

A mobile weather app MUST have a detailed radar map. The weather channel app has a terrible radar map. It's too low in resolution and does not contain enough frame data (poor animation). It's not good enough to buy yet. Please update this app. PLEASE ADD AN OPTION TO TURN OFF THE FUTURE PROJECTED RADAR DATA AND ONLY LOOP ACTAUL RADAR DATA. The future projection is cute but frankly worthless and the time slider ui is poor. I want the option to just loop actual radar data and not the fictional future data

I bought this for $3.99 thinking it must be great. I can't get it to work and both support numbers are not working. I wish I had not bought it. I'll consider it a $4 lesson learned.

The Weather Channel has done a very nice job with this app. I had the free version and upgraded a few weeks ago. I use it daily and really enjoy all of the features. The future radar option is nice. We've had a lot of storms the past week and the future radar has been right on all but once. Keep up the good work. Ok looking forward to future updates and features.

This version isn't 2 cents different from the free version.

Buy the free version of TWC app, the only differance between that and this is future track, and the future track does not work!!!! If you want a good weather app get weather bug elite. If you bundle the TWC free app with weather bug elite you will be able to know the weather better than the weather guy!!!

you've got to be kidding me, this is the worst weather app i have seen. the radar is crap. if you need a decent weather app go to fizz weather or my weather. i cant stress enough DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY ON THIS............ the weather channel should be ashamed of them selfs for this.

This app is almost identical to the free version which i loved. This app is cool but please give the people who paid for it some features that the free version doesnt have. No ads is great but put more time into development please.

I guess I just expected this to do more and be better in some way than the free app since it costs $3.99 - not! The only difference I can see between this one and the free app is no advertising at the top of the screen (not that that was a major issue to begin with) and the "future radar" feature. Everything else is exactly the same which was disappointing. I'm not too sure about the future radar - right now its in the realm of smoke and mirrors as far as I'm concerned. If I knew then what I know now I'd wait till this app does more or they take away some of what the free one can do.

After using for 1 week downgraded to 1 star. Not worth money. Radar is too slow and forecasts are inaccurate and don't update very often. Go with the NWS or Weather Underground- much more accurate.

On a scale of 1 to 10, it's a 5. Truepoint radar blah-bi-di-blah isn't all that impressive. It's mostly the free app without ads. It could be better. It's not terrible. It's average.

Great app

Not as pretty as some other weather apps, but TWC was always my go-to for the best content. The biggest problem for me is that it doesn't cache the data for offline viewing. People in places like NYC who use public transportation are often without a signal and still want to get the information the app last downloaded. I also wish the 36-hour forecast would show the day, not "tonight", "tomorrow", "tomorrow night". When looking at the weather late at night, it's not always obvious which those are. And lastly, as other people have mentioned, the overall look could be made nicer. The clouds, which I guess is what's in the background, though I appreciate that they don't make the text hard to read, look more like smudges on the screen. I DO, however, like the yellow text. The free app originally had all white text, which was hard to read with all the other colors going on. The change to yellow made the information much easier to read.

There is no difference between the free version and this except no adds,save you 4 bucks and get the paid weatherbug app, wow I'm so upset with this app, I expected way more, and. To top it off the whole layout is ugly

I had the free version and complained about the ads. This one doesn't have those annoying ads and I'm all over this app. However for 3.99 TWC NEEDS TO WOW US!! I would like to have landscape radar maps, better graphics (looks like a 5th Grader designed the graphics, yellow text on blue sheesh!), needs to feel more like an iPhone app, needs a way to rearrange the favorite cities into the order user wants. All-in-all a nice attempt but needs a complete UI overhaul! It does crash a lot. Now that we are paying for this TWC, we need a better interface!!

I thought it would be a big improvement over the free version, it does'nt appear that much different other then the price. I think Weather Bug is the best out of all the weather apps, but i did pay the price, maybe it will get better with another update!

If you're driving through bad weather, this app is for you. Parents, if you have kids driving to college, this app is for you - and them! The heart of a weather app is its radar and this one utilizes Google Maps as its background. Even on the slower EDGE network, it is fairly quick and easy to navigate and zoom. You can see cities and roads clearly as you zoom and move around the image. Ever drive through a storm, trying to decide if you're going to pull over or how long to wait before resuming your travels? This paid version also includes future cast capability that is invaluable in trying to avoid severe weather cells. I've tried and discarded four other weather apps before I came across this one.

The app needs some polish, but other than the annoying crashes, its perfect, albeit a bit expensive

I am in Orlando with my family watching the thunderstorms. The maps are great and I am facinated by the concept of future radar.

It's a great app. I switched from it when the ad's came to the free one. And went to the weather bug elite but when saw this it was what I was waiting for. It is a bit too much money $1.99 is about right. I think they think that twc is so great that people will pay this price. The sad part is their right. I paid !! They may update the free app and take alot of features away to make you buy the max to get the features back. That's what the weather bug did !!! It makes sense why pay for something you get for free !! Beware of that. Because right now the free and the paid are the same with alittle extra and no ad's. But it's not worth $3.99 if you can get it for free. But I love twc it's the best. If you are willing to pay $3.99 go ahead and get it !! Also the future radar is slow it's takes time to load between time changes. Wish I had cameras !! The weather bug had 5 cameras in my area. Twc has 0 !! Use the school cameras that the weather bug is using. But everything else is great !!

Had free one, I was obssessed with it. Got this because I knew I would use it a lot. Please drop price to $1.99

Seems pretty stable. The graphics are ok, however I find yellow text on a blue background difficult to read. I think the price is a little high for what you get. A $1.99 sounds more reasonable as it is really just another boring ad free weather app that attempts to be full featured but really isn't. I find future-casting to be entertaining but I don't really consider it a science. I can't really say that this is good enough to replace all of my other weather apps. Some of the free ones are just as good.
