"With a set of superb levels and the kind of gameplay that can entice you for either hourly marathons or quick-minute fixes, Theseus is easily one of the best puzzlers available on the iPhone, and that's no myth." --Pocketgamer: 9/10 Gold Award
Reviews from the App Store:
* "This may be the best game I have purchased so far."
* "This app is one of the few gems around the app store."
* "Challenging, highly addictive, but also easy to take out and play in small chunks of time, this is the perfect mobile app game."
* "The game is extremely awesome and fun to play. Unlike many other games this was actually worth the money I had paid to obtain it."

Based on an original concept from puzzle-master Robert Abbott, Theseus is a refreshing twist on the traditional maze. As Theseus, you must reach the exit of the labyrinth while avoiding the terrible Minotaur. The Minotaur takes two steps for every one of yours, but follows a strict set of rules that you can use to outsmart him.
The Theseus game engine provides complete control over move history, allowing you to undo all moves. You'll need it, since outmaneuvering the Minotaur can be quite a difficult task. Each level will reward you with that "Ah-hah!" moment when you discover the trick to trapping the Minotaur in the various nooks and crannies of the maze.
This package provides over 85 levels of increasing difficulty. Can you conquer them all? Only the most experienced navigators have been able to solve the final set.
Search Youtube for "Theseus iPhone" to watch a video tutorial.

Some people may know this game as Mummy Maze, but did you know that Mummy Maze was developed as a knockoff of the original Theseus?

April 19th, 2010 James Isabel We hope you enjoyed the multitude of games this past weekend. Sadly the weekend has come to pass and it’s time to return to regular programming so we’re crunching two FREE games together: “In Jailbreak: Voice Onrush, you take on the lead role, waking up with no memory of who you are. Save for your name, all information of you has been destroyed. In its place, something within you has changed…” Theseus is a refreshing twist on the traditional maze. As Theseus, you must reach the exit of the labyrinth while avoiding the terrible Minotaur. The Minotaur takes two steps for every one of yours, but follows a strict set of rules that you can use to outsmart him.” I can’t make up my mind on which of the two games is the best so just download them both and tell me which one you like

Bottom Line (but stated at top): buy and use Theseus.
Great App

Version: 2.1.3
and it looks like I'm not the only one stuck on level ten. My only suggestion, regarding that, would be to update this with a simple help or hint button
Great puzzle game.

Very satisfying game and a great value

This is the first paid iPhone game I've downloaded since my initial buying binge when the App Store first opened, and I'm very happy with my choice. If you're at all a fan of turn-based logic games, you should buy this -- it's got that rare ability in a game to be challenging without frustrating you. With 87 levels, it's easily worth the two bucks it cost me.
Professional Quality

Version: 2.1.3
This greatness about this game is that it's simple to learn but difficult to master. The entire game has a professional feel to it, from the well-thought tutorial missions to the smooth and simple graphics.
Don't pass up this app!
Simply one of the best strategy and logic games!

Don't let the name Theseus turn you off. The game itself is one of the few apps that challenges you to use logic and strategy and goes way beyond your typical labyrinth or marble maze game. As you travel through the different mazes, you have to outmaneuver the Minotaur who is twice as fast as you. Of course, the Minotaur has his own set of challenges and limitations which you can use to your advantage. I particularly like the playing field and the interface...it's simplistic yet elegant...probably not a phrase you hear often when describing a video game. Also, you can either swipe or use the d-pad to move which you can use anytime during the game. Another feature is the scorecard, if you will, that keeps track of your progress as you go through the levels. It's a nice touch along with the undo/reset buttons. Theseus can be frustrating, but all you have to do is hit the reset button to start over which I've done many, many times. As you play this game, you'll find that nooks and crannies are your best friends which you can use to trap the Minotaur. For what you pay for Theseus, you will have tons of replayability through the seemingly infinite number of levels. You may want to check out the lite version to get a taste, and if you're like me, you'll wind up with the full version.
Great Game w/ High Production Values!

The PC demo version has a feature that allows you to see a solution if you get stuck on a particular level. You obviously should only use this feature sparingly, but there will be times when you can't quite figure out the solution for a particular level and would like some assistance. The PC demo has a very simple but effective way of showing you the solution - it just puts numbers on the squares so you know the order in which to move Theseus around to escape the maze; so this allows you to follow the sequence step-by-step and learn from it so that you will be better able to see possible solutions for later levels. The IPhone version does not have this feature.
So addicting!

Version: 1.2.1
I love this game. I love that the makers respond so quickly with the request to improve the game. I have only one suggestion since most have been done already. I complete every level I can and come back to the ones that im stumped on. Once I have completed a level I was stumped on it takes me right to the next level. Can you make it to where you can search through the levels while in the game instead of going back into the menu? That's my only request. 5 stars otherwise.
Very good, challenging app

Version: 1.2
This is a fun app for a great price. It's challenging from the very beginning!
Awesome game
Heidenreich123
Version: 1.2.1
One of the most addictive in the app store this far. As for the review with 1 star, read the genre of the game first before you make a purchase if you even can read since you don't even play puzzle games obviously and probably only play games where you don't think. If you played the original on a mac or of you would understand what this game is about. Go back to your nintendo wii rookie.
Classic Game
mrbass.org
Version: 1.2
Not some random maze trial and error. Well you could try trial and error but you won't get very far. This isn't a quick 2 min per maze either. Definitely requires logical thinking galore. Love it.

Great Puzzler
BillyB123
Version: 1.2
Puzzle fans should not miss out. I just played for an hour, which I don't do with most of my other games. Ability to undo moves keeps it from getting frustrating, although level 26 is giving me some problems. Fans of this should also check out Parkinglot and MouseAbout, two undiscovered gems of the app store.
Fun and challenging!

Version: 1.3
It's very nice to see stuff like this in the app store. I really enjoy Theseus and recommend it to those looking for a fun pick up and play experience. It's easy to learn and provides a broad level of challenge.
Amazing

Word Game Champ
Version: 1.0
This is a fun and challenging app--sort of Pac Man meets Chess with fun sound effects. The tutorial is very helpful and I like being able to start with easier levels and work my way up. Just when I'm convinced I've tried every possible way to get Theseus to the next level and there is no way, another tactic occurs to me and I get to the next level--with applause!
The perfect puzzle game
dmbfan2911
Version: 2.1.3
Theseus has tons of challenging levels, a great tutorial that is short but comprehensive, and a simple to learn, hard to master approach. It holds true to the online version that I got into a while ago. However, the best thing about Theseus is that the levels are challenging, but always stay logical. For example, Blocked is another great puzzle game but I sometimes find myself guessing moves until I find the right combination. Theseus requires you to think about the board logically because one wrong move=death. The only way that I can express the difficulty levels in Theseus is with an exponential curve. As the levels go up, the boards get exponentially harder and eventually seem impossible. They only seem impossible, because after thinking about them for hours, the right pattern clicks and I finish the puzzle (complete with the signature, "aha!")
Awesome!!!

Version: 1.2.1
This game is really fun. I like puzzles so its perfect. Im just stuck on 26 right now so it's bugging me but it's still a sweet game.
Perfect
Metroid14
Version: 1.2.1
It's a great game for wasting time, and it's really fun but the only problem is the designer should have a guide that could tell you how to beat a level if it is to hard, besides that it is a must have for the iPod touch or iPhone.
GREAT GAME
NiCkRiZe
Version: 1.0
Does it get any better
1.99
That's it for 87 levels
Once I saw this I got it no thinking about it or anything and it's one of the best games on my ipod
Addictive
Ten of War
Version: 1.2
Outstanding puzzle game! Beats the snot out of "just another Tetris" clones. Worth far more than a paltry $2.
What a pleasant surprise!

Version: 1.0
I played these mazes for hours back in the day at logicmazes.com, and this version for the iphone holds true the the original. A unique concept with a wide range of difficulties make this a fun game to pick up and kill time with, be it minutes or hours. You can play any level at any time, so if the early ones are too easy for you or you get stuck on a toughie, no problem.
