✓ "Softsign might be the future of document-signing." businessinsider.com
Softsign gives you the ability to sign PDF documents with your finger.
Whether you're a photographer or filmmaker needing a release form signed, an entrepreneur who wants to potential investors to sign a non-disclosure agreement or a tradesman who needs a client to sign an estimate, Softsign is the App for you. Softsign is reliable, easy to use, and environmentally friendly.
Importing PDF documents to Softsign for signature couldn't be easier. You can open PDF documents direct from Mail, Evernote, or Dropbox - simply tap the attached file and select "Softsign" from the pop-up menu and your document will be automatically saved in the templates section of the App.
When you need to get a document signed, simply head to the templates section, open the document and in just a few simple steps you will have the signed document processed and you can share it directly from the App via Mail or by printing a hard copy directly from your device.
Softsign is free to download but each contract exported using the App contains a watermark. The watermark can be removed by making a one-time in-App purchase (Settings > Remove watermark).
MAIN FEATURES:
• Insert text and signatures into documents
• Passcode-controlled access to the App to keep your documents safe
• 'Annotate' allows you to cross out, circle or underline words/terms
• 'Lamp' makes it easy to read a lengthy document line by line
• Store your regularly used documents in templates
• Store your signed documents in archives
FUTURE VERSIONS:
Softsign will be updated regularly with new features so stay tuned. Softsign is currently only available in English but we are working on supporting additional languages.
If you intend to use the App for contracts that are not subject to the laws and jurisdiction of the UK, it is your responsibility to obtain legal advice (prior to using the 'Sign' functionality) to ascertain whether electronic signatures are valid under the laws and jurisdiction applicable to your contract – please refer to the in-App "Terms and Conditions" for more information. ...More

Did you ever think of your finger as a legal signing tool? Softsign for iPad (free for a limited time) offers a PDF annotation tool for iOS that allows you to sign legal documents via a touch screen. Developer Tom Hodgson points out that a variety of laws implemented more than a decade ago made electronic signatures legally valid in the US, the UK, and beyond. The 2000 United States ESIGN act specified that e-signatures could be accepted as equivalent to a written signature for commercial transactions. The EU has the 1999/93/EC Directive on Electronic Signatures, and in the UK there is the Electronic Communications Act 2000. The first time you use the app, you're prompted to enter a master password. This password goes into effect whenever the screen goes idle or you enter or leave the app. It ensures that no one is going to use Softsign accidentally by picking

Needs a gut rehab. Fails to show up in 'open in' ALWAYS.Emails NOTHING when doc is emailed after signature. Please tell me how this application is better, or even equal to 'pdf notes' which is totally free and has no issues as listed above. This app should have been FREE. what a waste of money and time.
Perfect in its simplicity

This little app does exactly what it should do, simply and elegantly. Nothing complicated about it once you upgrade to the paid version. They don't tell you that part up front; the free version is their template which you can't change. Then within the app you have to pay to upgrade so you can do what the app was designed to do. This is a bit deceptive and I wish they'd just charge for it up front and be done with it. If they change this I'll give it 5 stars.I will say that when I questioned the developer about this, they were responsive and helpful.
Well deserved 5 stars

I am a self-employed business man so carrying and storing contracts in paper form can be kind of a burden. Thanks to this app I no longer have to carry around old school carbon copy contract pads. This app is going to change the way I do business and I will look more professional to important clients. Worth every penny! I'm very picky about finding apps that are easy to use and I'm glad I chose this one above the rest.
