SimplyTweet Twitter with Push Notifications

SimplyTweet is easily my favorite twitter client. Very nice UI + push and handles conversational views better than every other app out there including tweetie 2. SimplyTweet also has a very active & committed developer who is constantly pushing out new updates.

I live in a house of 6 college guys. We all own iPhones and debate over apps. 4/6 of the guys have Tweetie 2. They're on the bandwagon of life. Simply Tweet out performs by far. The push note is a life saver. You never have to check for @ notes! Spend the extra few $$ and be app happy.

This great Twitter app continues to add features, and with the upcoming 2.5 update will steal the show from competitors like Tweetie 2. Highly Recommend!!

How do you get the push to work? Mine isn't working..

Search doesn't work over WiFi. Font is microscopic.

Do all these positive reviewers have the same app as me?? There are some major problems going on here. • No time signatures on tweets, you have to dig for them. Should be displayed out and clearly. • It absolutely drains battery life, probably by 1/2...no joke. I think it has to do w/ the push notifications. • When recieving push notifications, it automatically exits what you were doing. I recieved one while listening to Pandora and it kicked me off. Same w/ games and iPod. For $5, it is not worth it. I've been using the free TwitterFon & it performs better than this. I looking to buy it's ad free version now.

Very nice app and the developer is very responsive to feedback and support questions.

Liked the interface but it significantly drained my battery even after doing all the recommended fixes - unistalled rebooted a couple of times, I even went as far to do a full phone restore! I really wanted to be able to use this app ... Since deleting and rebooting battery is back to pre app usage. $ gone but can't afford the hit on battery life

I really love SimplyTweet. Finally a reliable way to look at groups. Beautiful interface. Beats tweetdeck hands down. Keep it up!

I've made it a hobby of downloading Twitter clients for some reason. Twittelator Pro, Twitterfon Pro, Twitterrific Premium, Tweetie, Twitterena Pro, and more. Simply Tweet is a very strong competitor and first to get push notifications included natively. Very impressed with this new release. It is the first app that has cut into my use of Twittelator Pro to any degree. Quite enjoyable. One of the best out there.

Lots of features in a neat package, but a big drawback for me is that is doesn't cache tweets. Before going into subway, I downloaded about 700 tweets to read while underground. This app downloaded them fine but when I changed apps while on the train and came back to this one, all the tweets were gone. Of course I could not DL them again because I had no signal, so there went all my reading for my commute. Also, when loading new tweets, the timeline scrolls up and I loose my place. Wish it was like Twitterrific where new tweets don't do anything to disrupt my place in the timeline. Needs to have option for larger type for my aging eyes. I'm going to stick with Twitterrific & Twittelator pro for the time being and keep an eye on this app. It has potential, but nothing that'd pull me away from the other programs. Oh, and push... Meh. It's okay, but I actually found it to get a little annoying after a time. That's how I feel about push anyway, so it's not specific to this app. Didn't care for buzzers going off every time I received a DM tweet.

Even though it's 4 stars , think of it as 5. But I never give perfect scores. Took over from Tweetie as my favorite. As almost every feature you could want. And if it doesn't , it prob will because the dev is on top of it. With quick fixes and updates.

Finally got it working properly and themes are great, love the new looks. Push works pretty good slight delay for tweets up to ten minutes unlike tweetpush who is in 2 minutes but this one is free and it leaves the cool number on the app which tweetpush does'ent do. All in all pretty good Please add landscape for everything if possible. And the ability to adjust font size. Do this and your app could take over the app store

Currently the best poweruser app on the store but easy and intuitive enough for the casual user. I have tried just about all. This is the one I use everyday.

I've used a lot of other Twitter clients, and I just keep coming back to this one. The big win is the easy to use interface. I find it more intuitive and cleaner than the others. My hope is that for the future there will be two major enhancements: 1. Store old & new tweets in a local DB for offline reading. 2. An authoring/drafting system like Birdhouse

Simplytweet has all the features you could ask for, the developer is always up for suggestions..... I can sense more updates in the future :) The updates are great, right now Push notification is in the beta stage for the app, so pick it up now

SimplyTweet has evolved into a feature-rich, snappy, and seamless Twitter app, which is now arguably in-league with other app bigs like Tweetie. Among those first to support Push Notifications, this app has a bright future ahead of it thanks to a very dedicated developer! I've been using this app for months now back in its bare-bones days and it's been my favorite ever since!

Don't let the name fool ya. It's actually packed with many features and it runs extremely fast. I love the photo search feature. I was told by @simplytweet on twitter that video tweets will eventually be an option in a future version. This app is an excellent app that is feature packed and works extremely well. Push notifications also works extremely well.

The creator of this app has made a great app for a awesome price! Tweetie was my favorite and I have no fully switched over. Also I can't think of a Twitter app I haven't bought and this has taken over fulltime for me, and now with push = FTW!!!!

At first, it would crash, but after turning off DM under Timelines to Load Automatically in the Settings.app it works! This is a small bug that can be fixed. Me and the dev have been e-mailing and twittering back and forth. This app is amazing! Best Twitter app ever!! :D Well worth the money.

I too made the rounds with all the other twitter apps, but this is the first one I liked and actually went to the paid version on! An option to post your tweet to your Facebook status might be a good add, I have a lot of annoying Facebook friends that use apps that do that. :)

I'm beta testing 1.7 and all I can say is there's nothing but good things coming. --------——— Beta testing 1.8 and it's amazing. I'd give it more than 5 stars to make up for the older reviews if it was possible. This is easily a five star app.

I have tweetie, twitterrific, twiterfon pro, and now this. I'd say this software basically has all the features of the others with a new clean take on the interface...but also boasts a few features the others don't have. I would like to see landscape integration especially in the browser, and also some theme/color selection for the friends main tweet list. Also, stability could be improved. My client crashed twice in a half hour. I do enjoy the notes, saved views, and photo search features which helps to differentiate this product from other Twitter apps. Keep giving us new and unique features and we will be happy! Overall, a great effort...I look forward to seeing the app mature!

When I first tried SimplyTweet, I was very disappointed. Over the last few updates, the developer has really gone the distance, responding to the minor annouances. So now, here we have a Twitter client for the iPhone that is really worth the application space. Tweetie is still my default iPhone app, but I am very tempted to switch. (tweetie is cheaper also) I'm happy with how simplytweet has evolved. It's doesn't take up much space on the iPhone, but it packs a robust Twitted app. Great job!

I am a casual twitted user when I found out about this app and now after the las update, it became a much better app! I just wish you can choose any other color other than drab grey.

Good for the basic features but I don't see why it costs what it does. I'm using Twitterville now which has the same features as this app AND looks better. A few suggestions fulfilled and I'll be back: 1. Different color bubbles for tweets, replies and friend tweets. 2. Better looking bubbles, perhaps modeled after the native message bubbles of the SMS app. 3. A better looking icon.

This is a basic twitter client with some great features. It does not follow the normal twitter conventional graphical layout. The layout is simple and great to use. However, I had some problems with it initially. I unable to sign on twitter because my pc is signed on. It will be great to detect that I am signed in somewhere on my network and enable me to logout from my twitter account before signing in.

I would recommend this to others!!

Product simple interface clean. Need to allow users to logout. Some pleople w more than one account cant log in again. Once u logon the first time, u never c that logon screen again.

This is a great Twitter app, it has everything you need from twitter right at your finger tips. The layout is very easy to use and the look is appealing. I would recommend this to anyone who is looking for a Twitter app that is easy to use, especially anyone who uses a lot of @ replies.

I am casual Twitter user and this app fulfills my basic Twitter needs. It's my default Twitter app and I am very happy with it!

Don't like the fact that the time for the tweets are not listed. Think that the UI for Tweetie is cleaner. Hope to see more updates down the road.

Beside the basics (tweet reading & replying, twitterer viewing & following) there are 4 features I've really wanted from an iPhone Twitter client:

I have tried several Twitter apps on my iPhone, both free and paid, and thus far SimplyTweet is my favorite. The name is quite appropriate. The app is simple to use, yet does almost everything any Twit could want! The retweet feature is simpler and cleaner than the competition's in my opinion and it is a feature I use a lot. I love the refresh button and the fact that you can easily follow an entire conversation as opposed to some random, confusing, one-sided gibberish. I will miss the nearby feature of the app I was using previously and also my tweets being distinguished by color (but I will NOT miss them enough to switch back!) Perhaps the dev will include these in a future update and make this the perfect app! Oh ... And as previously mentioned ... the icon could do with a bit of artistry LOL

Version 1.2 made SimplyTweet a much better app. Before now, you could only see about 25 tweets. This update allowed clicking on "older" at the bottom to view many more updates you may have missed while being out. This app also makes it easy to "retweet", which I often do. Now it has twitpic support, which is great if you have photos you would like to share. I also like looking at a group of updates or "conversations" between two people. My favorite thing about SimplyTweet is the search function, which allows you to get real time search results for any search term you input. If someone typed the search word you are looking for six seconds ago, it will show up in your search results.
