Firemint sales used to be a much more rare occurrence, but they still have an electricity to them that other creators can’t capture with their own price-slashing parties. I’m guessing it has more to do with the quality of the wares, than it does with dramatic price shifts. While I pointlessly ponder this, go ahead and grab Real Racing and Real Racing 2 for the iPhone or iPad. All four games have been dramatically reduced in price for this weekend in celebration of… well, nothing that we can discern. Still! They’re cheaper! Real Racing 2 is, we reckon, the best racing game Firemint has produced. That doesn’t mean the original Real Racing is a slouch, though. Fans of simulation racing games can and will enjoy both; it’s just that Real Racing 2 is a fantastic iteration on that original foundation. If you want to know way more about either of these titles,

Some of the App Store’s best simulation racing games have received a price slashing as the US prepares to celebrate its independence with drink, food, and things that blow up and make pretty colors. For the third or fourth time only, the Real Racing series is up on the sale block, each title receiving an 80 percent to a 30 percent cut from standard price. You’ll not be wanting for a Grand Turismo-like experience on your little touch devices if you decide to grab one of these, as we’ve written in our respective reviews for these two outstanding iOS racing jams. If you’ve somehow missed , well, that’s on sale, too. Firemint dropped the price from $4.99 to $.99 for the next 48 hours alongside the Real Racing series. The PC and Mac version of the title on Steam is also on sale, if you’re interested in that. Sales are kind

If you happen to be one of those people that has yet to check out the phenomenal Real Racing series on iOS, Firemint is going to temporarily make it a lot cheaper for you to do so. From now through the weekend, every Real Racing title is now on sale in some capacity. Here’s a quick breakdown of the price drops for each one: If you maybe aren’t a big racing fan but have always been intrigued by the Real Racing series because of its technical merits, then picking up the first Real Racing for just 99¢ or the iPad version for $1.99 is basically a no brainer. Neither of these games have ever been this cheap before. While the sequel Real Racing 2 is definitely a step forward over the first game, Real Racing still has plenty of legs with a ton of races to play through and online multiplayer.

If you’re after an App Store bargain this weekend, then here are a few which certainly fit the bill! This one comes as a shock. In an age where gargantuan mega-corporations are gobbling up smaller development studios for prices reaching into the tens and hundreds of millions, everyone seems to want to play the guessing game of who the next acquisition will be. But I don't think this one crossed anybody's mind. Australian developer Firemint, who have been making games for over a decade but struck it big with their iOS titles Flight Control [99¢/Lite/HD] and Real Racing [$4.99/Lite/HD] in 2009, and more recently with Real Racing 2 [$9.99] in 2010, have struck a deal to buy fellow Aussie developer Infinite Interactive, who have existed for twice as long as Firemint and are most widely known for their Puzzle Quest series. The juicy details regarding pricing weren't disclosed, but it sounds like a happy venture for all parties involved. Infinite Interactive will consolidate its team into Firemint's in their newly

Looking back at our review of the original Real Racing [$4.99 / Lite / HD], we had a few disappointments, but overall had no issue calling it an "unrivaled racing experience." While EA has released a few great racers from the Need For Speed series, Real Racing was always my racing game of choice... Making me wonder what game was going to boot Real Racing off my personal throne of favorite racer on the platform. Unsurprisingly, Real Racing 2 [$9.99] was the game to do it. The original Real Racing received universal acclaim from the gaming media, and even went on to take home an Apple Design Award at WWDC this year. Real Racing 2 is everything a good sequel should be in that it builds on top of the excellent foundation set by Real Racing, adding often requested features and other surprises we weren't expecting all while improving nearly everything

Firemint, which is probably best known or its wildly popular Flight Control game for the iPhone, posted some cool figures from its social gaming platform Cloudcell that is now connected to over 1 million gamers. They talk about two games, Real Racing and Flight Control, with most attention going to the latter. Real Racing drivers have covered 3,283,078 km in time trials and a further 1,106,445 km in league races, for a total of 4,389,523 km (2,727,523 miles). After rushing home and loading it up with every game I thought would be worth trying on the device, the results were somewhat predictable. The small handful of games that have been released or updated to with support for the Retina Display are gorgeous, and everything else both loads faster and performs better. If for any reason you were sitting on the fence trying to decide if upgrading to an iPhone 4 (or the presumed 4th generation iPod touch when it's released) is worth it for gaming, it absolutely is. While we're all busy fiddling with multitasking and obsessively organizing our apps in to folders, developers are hard at work to fully utilize all the other things under the hood of iOS 4. Firemint and Secret Exit are among the first studios taking advantage of iOS 4's new anti-aliasing capabilities. Anti-aliasing is used to minimize jagged edges found in curved and diagonal lines displayed utilizing the grid of square pixels that make up the displays we use today. Using anti-aliasing, the GPU of the iPhone intelligently decides what color to display on pixels that border the edges of 3D objects to make them blend in to the background and appear more crisp. As you can see from the above image, the A on the left has no aliasing, while the edges of the A on the right have been blended with the background color. This is a gross over-simplification of how

By Jeff Scott on June 22nd, 2010 Real Racing and Flight Control from Firemint received updates today designed to take advantage of the iPhone 4's increased screen resolution, the amazing Retina Display. The increased resolution of the iPhone 4 has been the point of a lot of conversation from the moment it was first announced. Most of the conversation focusing on if it really is a “retina display,” one with such a high pixel density that the human eye can’t see the individual pixels. And around that, most of the conversation had to do how great text will look on the display. But what about games? How will the increased resolution impact games? Can they actually approach photographic quality? Wow, that would be staggering — and I can’t wait to see it! In what I believe are the first games to be approved to take advantage of the Retina Display on

In a completely unexpected turn of events, Apple seems to have authorized FedEx and UPS to begin delivering iPhone 4's early. Some people are lucky enough to have their devices out for delivery today or in some cases even already delivered. Also, Apple has confirmed that other preorders will be arriving tomorrow, an entire day ahead of the original launch date. It's hard to say whether or not Apple is just throwing ravenous preorderers a bone, or if they're potentially attempting to defray the nearly inevitable launch fiasco experienced with the iPhone 3G when AT&T's servers simply could not handle all the activations on launch day. Yesterday the developers of Carcassonne [$4.99] mentioned on Twitter that they've already got 1.1 submitted which contains high-resolution artwork for the iPhone 4, and if you own either Flight Control [99¢] or Real Racing [$4.99 / Free] updates are already on the App Store that

Mike, maybe you could recommend some of these awesome really out-of-the-way apps that we don't know about? I try every day, my friend. Fair enough Where is the award for Angry Birds? "Apple definitely didn't dig too deep to find really out-of-the-way titles." Developers submit their own apps to Apple. 20 Minute Meals was the best selling paid app in the UK for quite a while last year, and still is in the top 20 or so. It's a good app, which I've used a few times. The meals

Disney Interactive's arcade racing collaboration with Black Rock Studios, [$6.99], hit the App Store tonight and so far seems remarkably similar to the version we previewed last week: In Split/Second, you compete in a fictional reality television show where you compete for fame and fortune. Included are three gameplay modes: Season mode where you play through the TV show, quick race where you can play any unlocked track, and multiplayer mode which not only can be played locally via bluetooth and WiFi but also online. The main gimmick of Split/Second is the powerplay system. Racing through the game, a gauge near the back of your car slowly fills up in three segments. Doing things like drifting, drafting opponents, and just generally racing as aggressive as possible increases your powerplay meter. You can then spend this powerplay energy to initiate various explosions throughout the track to take out enemy racers as well

Late last year Volkswagen teamed up with Firemint to bring us Real Racing GTI [Free], a cleverly disguised free demo of Real Racing [$4.99] loaded with VW cars and branding that is still totally worth downloading if you haven't tried out Real Racing yet. VW's most recent collaboration was just released today, this time working with Fish Labs to bring us what appears to be some kind of crazy economical driving edutainment game that appears to share a similar game engine to their previously released Rally Master Pro 3D [$4.99]. In Volkswagen Think Blue. Challenge [Free], instead of racing as quickly as you can, players are forced to drive economically. As silly as this sounds for a video game, doing well is actually quite challenging. You start the game with a small amount of gas, and with each checkpoint you come to, you're asked an often obvious question about fuel efficiency

We got our hands on EA's upcoming Need For Speed: Shift this week, and after spending the last few days playing through the game I'm confident in saying that EA has succeeded in bringing yet another amazing racing game to the platform. With in-game options to tune the difficulty to the point that your car is almost driving itself, Shift is not only an extremely accessible racing game, but also can be a very technical driving experience for veterans of the genre with all of the assists turned off and the manual transmission mode enabled. Believe it or not, Need For Speed: Shift is the thirteenth in the Need For Speed series which originally debuted all the way back in 1994 with Road & Track magazine heavily advising on both the sound design and vehicle physics. Since then, the Need For Speed saga has been through many iterations covering everything from

Yesterday we pointed readers to Firemint's tech demo, which sprang from developer Rob Murray's desire to see just how far he could push the new iPhone 3GS hardware. Murray created a test build of his studio's Real Racing [App Store], which normally features six cars on a track at the same time, and started adding cars in order to see when the new hardware would falter. He was able to push the game to 40 cars on-track at once without any perceptible loss in framerate. As he concluded, the results are fairly "mind blowing." Pocket Gamer recently spoke with Murray, who shared his thoughts on what the more powerful iPhone 3GS means to iPhone developers, in general. "To get value from your 3GS-specific investment you would want to feature and promote its benefits. However, when you do that, at the same time you can very easily give the non-3GS market false

The normal version of Real Racing has 6 cars on the track at once. Their iPhone 3GS test version has not 12, not 20, but 40 cars on the track at the same time! Take a look at the demo video below for the amazing proof — the real fun starts around 30 seconds in. Amazing, just amazing. Looks like they might have even been able to

06.29.09 App Score: 10/10 Firemint’s follow up iPhone offering goes a different route than the causally inclined Flight Control that has been a consistent occupant on the Top 25. For me, Real Racing is a surprise coming from Firemint as they’ve rolled out a powerhouse racing title that is determined to shock and awe gamers of all stripes. This game also launches at an interesting time — right as the new iPhone 3GS was released by Apple. I was lucky enough to have the privilege to check out Real Racing on both the 3G and 3GS, so I’ve be able to provide some comments on the differences between the hardware and what it’ll mean to you. The tilt behind Real Racing is that it’s essentially a simulation racing game. Because there are several arcade-oriented racing games, I’d say there is room for a game like this to

Firemint has announced that their critically acclaimed Real Racing for the iPhone and iPod touch will soon be receiving a much needed update that will squash some bugs and add a few interesting items. The 1.1 update should fix a crash bug that caused the game to exit after racing for a while. The update will also add a few items that the team just couldn’t get into the game prior to its launch, such as some of the previously unbranded vehicles will now feature sponsorship from “Team Flight Control” as you can see in the image above. The rest of the release notes are listed below: - Added dynamic environment shadows to all vehicles on screen - Added Flight Control sponsorship to some of the unbranded vehicles - Accelerometer is now turned off during menu screens to save power - Device fades to power saving mode after 1 minute of

By Rene Ritchie, Sunday, Jun 14, 2009 | Every week a few of us from team TiPb, bloggers and forum crew alike, will bring you our current favorite, funnest, most useful App Store apps, WebApps, jailbreak apps, even the occasional accessory, web site, or desktop app if the mood strikes us. As long as they’re iPhone (or iPod touch) related, they’re fair game. So who’s on deck this week and what are our picks? Find out after the break! This game is absolutely phenomenal! If you like racing simulators (al-la Gran Turismo style), this is the game for you. You have a few modes of play and two car views: in-car and behind the car. The car physics and graphics are spot on. This game is well worth the admission price. [$9.99 - iTunes link] This was a game that I purchased for the PC a while back, and it has

Events like WWDC are great... not only to put faces to names but when else would we realistically be able to talk face to face with many of the iPhone developers from around the world. Australian-based Rob Murray of Firemint was present last night to show off their new Real Racing game to the crowd and during the demo he announced that a pending update will be adding 6-way Wi-Fi Multiplayer. For those not familiar with the Real Racing, we thought the game offered an unrivaled racing experience on the iPhone. The game has been earning some much deserved recognition and is quickly making it's way to the top of the App Store charts. We caught up with Rob later in the evening to see what his plans were now that Real Racing had finally been released. Rob indicated that they still have a lot of work planned for Real Racing

Real Racing is yet another racing game for the iPhone and iPod Touch being released by the excellent developer Firemint. This new racing game is looking to add even more content to the racing genre for the iPhone and does this wonderfully. The game features five different game modes to play through with everything from a well-thought out career mode to a local multiplayer mode where players can race against each other. The game is one of the best racing games I have ever seen on the iPhone. The graphics, audio and presentation of the game easily challenge the top racing games for the device currently on the market. The game tries to closely emulate the feel of the cars and different surface traction and really feels amazing while you are playing it. Players can tweak their settings to fit their driving style. Everything from changing your control scheme to turning

While Flight Control [App Store] may be Australian developer Firemint’s runaway hit, they’ve been hard at work for months on Real Racing [App Store]. Prior to last week, all we saw of Real Racing was a screenshot or new trailer randomly pop up here and there, leaving iPhone communities all over the internet speculating what the final product would be like. I’ve found most iPhone racing games somewhat unappealing. While accelerometer tilt controls translate great to driving controls, they’ve all just felt a little flat. EA’s recently released Need For Speed Undercover [App Store] came close to quenching my thirst for a great racer on the platform, but fell short for a number of reasons, in my eyes. Poor AI combined with races that were hard to lose had me quickly growing bored of the game, despite its doing a great job at capturing the Need For Speed feel on the

WOW. I can’t put my iPhone down. Seriously — I’ve stopped writing this review two three times now to go back and play another race in Firemint’s recently debuted Real Racing. With truly electrifying gameplay combined with jaw-dropping graphics, Real Racing provides a rich, gripping and realistic experience for anyone who is blessed with the chance to play it. Ok, maybe that’s an exaggeration — but you get the point. If you’re into racing games, buy this game; you won’t regret it. Real Racing represents exactly what Steve Jobs meant when he said the iPhone (and iPod touch) “is the best portable device for playing games on – and a whole new class of games.” I can’t stop talking about how good Real Racing is – my roommates are downright sick of me shoving this game in their faces. So what’s so good about Real Racing? Everything. The controls are superb–so

Verdict ?

Quite possibly one of the best race games I have ever played, and definitely the best in recent memory. I would give it a 5 star rating but the graphics are a little jumpy in traffic, the ai cars almost always win the bumping bouts and it has a tendency to loose all your data and you have to start the whole thing over once in a while.Still all in all a well put together game with great controls, easy to play yet still challenging and endless hours of fun.Well done guys. UPDATE: Having played for several months, the upgrade has fixed most of the glitches ai cars are not as pushy, graphics are better but still a little jumpy in traffic. as I said one of the race games ever I give it 5 stars. And now that you have fixed the graphics glitch in ios 5 even better this is a nice break when rr2 is too intense. Thanks to Sam and the guys at firemint for keeping this gameGoing. I still love it.
Great game.

Great graphics. A classic favorite for iOS and a Firemint original.Developers doing great to fix bugs and keep even older titles relevant. If I had iPhone 4 or iPad I would go for Real Racing 2 instead while it's on sale!

Period. Now that the price has been reduced to $4.99 you just have no excuse to not get this. Even if you're not necessarily a racing fan, this game will still entertain you for hours. Try the lite version and see it for yourself.

This is the best racing game I've played so far. I own a lot of racing games from the first I bought, crash nitro cart and asphalt to the ones I've played recently like need for speed, this is by far the best gameplay. I have to say that NFS's graphics were superior to RR but the graphics would lag and drive me crazy when i was racing. This game has much better frame rates and doesn't Sacrifice much. Unlike NFS's bland race tracks RR's feature pretty scenery and great sounds. The in car view (the view I choose to race in) is very nifty with the speedometer and the shifter which you can watch the driver use. Although I've completed the game on the easiest difficulty i've gone back numerous times to play in the harder difficulties to unlock new cars, play in online leagues and submit time trials. Overall on of the best games I own. Although the game is pretty expensive for iPhone game standards, $10 in any other handheld gaming device's market would be pretty much a steal and this game gives many other ds and psp games a run for their money so it's well worth the money.
Things I would like to be add/fixed:
1. The AI although I don't think it wants to kill me can be pretty obnoxious. Try to program the ai to try to avoid hitting other cars and running them off the road or make them easier to psuh around. I like the first idea because it's more realist and this is RR after all.
2. Why can't I customize my cars??? Please add in a graphic customizer.
3. What about a track meant for speed? Like an oval to see the top speeds of these cars.
4. Liscensed material??? How about some actual racing venues from around the world or atleast similar ones in actual locations. How about some real cars with real interchangable parts ( NOT LIKE NFS who think that they know how to customize cars with their little packages for speed and acceleration etc.)
5. I like the incorperation of the music library from in game but can you make it so you can deselect music you've previously selected to play?
Thank you for this wonderful game!
10/10

I heard of this game through an internet show called Co-op. This was one of the main reasons I bought an iPhone. (didn't have the phone at the time). Who would have thought an iPhone game could be anywhere near as good and real as a console game? If you like racing games and accelorameter driving, then you'll like (if not, love) this game. Well with the price.

Casual player as I have a life. Can't even unlock the "B" class cause I came in 2nd on one race. I'd LOVE for the oppurtunity to drive all the cars without dedicating many many hours to a GAME. I bought this and can only use about 10% of it. So can I get a refund for the other 90%? Seriously, unlock everything for quick races!!!!
Amazing in every other way.

Things to add:
A mini map or arrow or something to show how sharp the turn ahead is.
A small fixed rear view mirror to see what's going on behind you when the action is to intense to full screen swap.
Please do this and it will be better
Can't say more stars I gave 5
Paid ten when it came out and it was worth it
Please add the 40 car 3gs option you've teased with for months
An stop dropping priced there isn't multiplayer

If you loved Gran Turismo 1 & 2 as much as I did, this game is that and then some in the palm of your hands. I would state that if you have the $5 to spend on a racing game, this is your game right here. The graphics, the handling, the control schemes and music are all stellar. Firemint put a lot of work into the game, and they keep it fun by letting you adjust the game to your tastes and desires. Tweak what you want, when you want, and compete over the web to boot. There are 0 other games like it. Great game, great price, and great fun on the go.
Slick and sassy!

I would give this racing app a 5 but it has one small issue. The CPU opponents are on a bot path. For those of you who don't know what a bot path is, it is a path the cpu players follow. Well the CPU cars follow this path and do not leave it even if you are there. They push you out of the way so they can stay on that path. Adding to that, if you hit one of them you loose a second and a half or more and a lot of times if they hit you they continue on at the same speed or end up going faster. I find this anoying because it is not fair. Last but not least if you even so much as touch the grass you loose so much time and everyone blazes by you. Grrr silly. I don't want to discourage buying this app because it is an awesome app and well worth the $5. You just have to work around those small issues. Cheers and happy racing

I bought this game expecting an amazing realistic game just like all the reviews said... But i will be honest to say that this game is way over rated. The graphics are good, but can be way better. The tracks are way to empty and need more enviroment graphics. It also needs an On-Screen map.
To be realistic, "Fast Lane" has way better graphics than this game.

As the rating suggests, I really like this app, but I would like to see a few things added in the future.
1. On screen mini map during races.
2. Option to qualify. On higher difficulties it can be a pain to fight your way through the CHEAP and overly aggresive A.I drivers.
3. I want the game to save your volume and screen orientation settings after you exit out of the app. It's stupid to have to go into the options every time I start the app to change it to the way I like it.
4. It would be nice to be able to watch the replay after every event.
Other than these little nitpicks the game is a blast to play and at $10, is a steal.
UPDATE: I'm changing my rating from 5 to 1. The reason? The A.I. has angered me for the last time. I've been stuck on the same A class hatchback career race for TWO days now. And it's not that they're faster than me, it's that I can't pass them without them just flat out crashing me. Maybe I'm just a sissy, but I'm a sissy who's not playing this game again until they update the idiotic A.I. drivers.
Just to clarify, I beat all of the C and B class races before attempting the A class races so technically I am ready for A class.
Excellent game

You're really getting a lot for the buck, well ten bucks, with this game. I won't bore you with the praise everyone has already given it. I really just want to air two requests: 1) PLEASE add a map when I'm driving. I don't have time for 10 test laps to get to know the course. 2)Make the AI a little less annoying. I'm talking about all the hitting. I'm sensitive. Hold me.

Version: 1.00
I had high expectations for this game based on reviews from people with pre-release copies and this easily exceeds them. This game isn't for people that like to win every time. The controls take practice to get used to and the artificial intelligence of the competition only makes this game harder. But once you get the hang of it, this game is just incredible. The graphics are outstanding and the game even runs smoothly on my outdated 1st generation 8GB iPod Touch. The replay value is awesome and the career mode is fantastic. I haven't even gotten a chance to play with the online features or the local wi-fi multiplayer but still am addicted to the game. I also have Need For Speed Undercover and can say with confidence that this game blows it away. The accelerometer controls makes this game as fun as any racing game I have ever played and it costs 1/5 of what most console games cost. Amazing!

When EA’s Need for Speed finally made its debut after months of delays, I declared it the best arcade racer available at that time for the iPhone/iPod Touch platform. Well, I can safely declare Firemint’s Real Racing from Firemint is the BEST overall racer, arcade or otherwise, available on the platform that blows away everything else. The game is impressive in all aspects of the word for controls, graphics, and gameplay. It is truly a racer that not only sets a high bar, but tears it down and creates a new set of rules.

Nfs vs RR
sashicon
Version: 1.00
Well it really is no comparison at all, Real Racing takes the checker flag handly, some ppl are saying you can't compare them because RR is a sim and NFS is an arcade, to the contrary, real racing is not a sim, but an arcade racer with very real driving physics, not to be mistaken with the all skill and no fun sims of the current consoles like Frza or grand T, which I absolutly hate do to that fact, I'm a ridge racer for life when it comes to racers, the original "RR", and I'm telling you as a fan of the ultimate arcade racer of speed and manuverability that Real Racing is far better than NFS in every aspect and every element of what a fun racer should be on any hardware, be it mobile or stationary, nfs (iPhone ver.) to me was a one play throw away," like a used condom on a drunkin onenight stand" and one of the worst concepts of what a racer should be on any device, most imporantly it's lack of control by player, I mean you can beat the whole game playing with one hand, while holding a conversation with your mom about safe sex, no kidding, do to, auto correctional stering, auto accel, almost auto everything, no challenge, not even a little, stupid videos inbetween every race that had absolutly no value, no secondary veiwing, no replays, no nothing. If you like the ridge racer series, tho Real is nothing like it, or if you, like me, thought fastlane was the only decent racer to come out of the store as far as sense of cntrl, speed, and overall realisim, than this is the game for you, don't be tempted by EA's price drop, you'll beat in 2hrs, but be soar for a week. And, to not be so hasty in coining Real as a none sim, what I mean is, tho there are functions to make it more simlike, AI brakes, and a few other auto functions, you have the option of turning them all off, giving you complete control of your vehical, letting you have the ability to drift( although more realisticly) cut corners (tho with the slow down), ram and box out other racers, and have them do the same to you. And tho the speed and futurestic manuvarability of a genuin arcade racer as Fastlane or the true RR aren't there(break neck drifting, at 200mph+), the arcade fun is still there. The best feature aside from real being just a truly awesome game for the device, and the best racer to come out since launch, is the cockpit view, which is perhaps the best FP racing view I have ever seen, tho I've played other racers with a similar option, opposed to the traditional complete FP view to 3p view, this one is so well done, utilizing the iscreen with a perfection that has yet to be out done by any game regardless of genre, for a sense of in game emmersion that is truly a tecnological feat. I highly rec this game for any racing fan be you a sim head or ridger.
Currently playing: Isotope, csone, 7days on an off, cylinder revolution, and, with myself:)
Waiting for: Quantum Collapse, and October 1st, cause you better belive I'm "go"-ing can't say the whole word as I think big brother is sensoring any mintion of it, this was fun while it lasted but when all is said and done nothing beats tangable joysticks, and intill apple actually makes a actual device specific for gaming instead of trying to get devs to cram code everything, and loosing there shirts in the process, as a great deal of the bad games in the store are only due to cram coding a device that's meant for a number of thing first and games last, that's where I will remain.
Are you kidding me?
Dumas1000
Version: 1.00
The AI is ridiculous, cheap, and retarted. It's worse than Days of Thunder. It's bumber cars all race long. Cars hit you from behind from the start of the race to the end. They slam into your bumber and force you off your line constantly. They push you into the wall. They nudge you into the grass. They're unrealistically aggressive, cheap and dirty. There's nothing you can do about it. Once you pull out in front by just a hair they will attack you every single time, often unprovoked. They'll wait for you to approach a turn and then you're toast. There doesn't appear to be a rear view mirror. I'm not sure it would make a difference anymore.
The game is rendered borderline unplayable until AI opponents start behaving more realistically, and not like a kamakazie crash test dummy.

i have been waiting for this game since ir was announced last year and i mus say i am impresed. the game looks awesome and the graphics are great. the presentation as you open the app is not a pre rendered video but actual game graphics which was a nice touch. the in car view is great as is the first racing game to do it on an iphone and do it well. i know that as a customer we are never satisfied with what we get so here it goes. I wish it had liscenced cars like honda ford ferrari porsche, that would have made the game better in my opinion. still a great game and i cant wait to play it more as it has tons of races and crs to unlock. online play thru wifi or 3g would have been a nice touch considering that the iphone update is around the corner this game would capitalize on the ingame voice chat (like on xbox live) that the new update would provide. this game has set a new benchmark for iphone racers. even though this game is a racer cannot be copared to NFSU for the fact that this is a simulation and NSFU is an arcade style racer. overall great job firemint you have given us a great gme once again. thx

OH. MY. GOD! Finally a racing game that let's you race, have fun and get your hear racing and hands sweating. Perfect controls and sensitivity. outstanding fluid animation and realistic graphics, not to mention fluid dynamics. Without exageration, the best racing game available on the iPhone, hands down. Get it...and ENJOY.
(what a pleasant surprise to find it available 1 day in advance of WWDC!)

Best graphics of any racing game, best controls of any racing game, tons of content, coolest cockpit view in a iphone game, & umm...well I just got it so that's my first impressions. I've played nfsu & this easily tops that! Just 1 minor complaint, where's the optional mini-map?

This is the best racing game on the iPhone, and with more depth would make a run at the best racing game ever (mega plus at 10 bux at it clocks in at just over 60 megs.) Still, it's plenty deep, deeper than Asphalt 4. If you call it a sports game then it's the best sports game on the iPhone (SMASHES Tiger, real tennis and soccer and the best of the rest). If you buy one game this year, buy this.

I've downloaded a lot of 3D games for the iPhone, racing in particular, with high hopes. Sad to say I've been let down many times, but now I am finally at peace. This game is a perfect 10 in all aspects. Graphics, Audio, Presentation are awesome. You'd pay at least $40 for a PSP game of this caliber, so $10 is a steal!
