The original Missile Command was released to arcades in 1980, and aside from being played by John Connor in Terminator 2, Missile Command has provided a solid core gameplay element which has been either the direct inspiration of evolved upon in far too many video games than I could even attempt to list-- Also, it just so happens that this gameplay mechanic works fantastic with the touchscreen of iOS devices, which explains why so many developers are eager to take their shot at a Missile Defense inspired game. Fishlabs, the guys behind Rally Master Pro 3D [$4.99], Galaxy on Fire 3D [$2.99 / Free] (as well as its sequel) and many other games are soon bringing Earth Defender to the App Store. Earth Defender puts players to the task of, well, defending Earth. An array of aliens are attacking, and you've got to drop strategically placed bombs up in space for

Late last year Volkswagen teamed up with Firemint to bring us Real Racing GTI [Free], a cleverly disguised free demo of Real Racing [$4.99] loaded with VW cars and branding that is still totally worth downloading if you haven't tried out Real Racing yet. VW's most recent collaboration was just released today, this time working with Fish Labs to bring us what appears to be some kind of crazy economical driving edutainment game that appears to share a similar game engine to their previously released Rally Master Pro 3D [$4.99]. In Volkswagen Think Blue. Challenge [Free], instead of racing as quickly as you can, players are forced to drive economically. As silly as this sounds for a video game, doing well is actually quite challenging. You start the game with a small amount of gas, and with each checkpoint you come to, you're asked an often obvious question about fuel efficiency

FISHLABS delivers the goods in a gorgeous racing app that looks good, even on older model iDevices. Shockingly good! Rally Master Pro™ is the ultimate rally experience for your iPhone! Race in amateur, professional and expert rallies on 27 ambitious and veried tracks, in any weather, with tough conditions, at top speed. Only if you know what the road ahead looks like you will be able to drift smoothly through the curves and make it under the strict limits. My Take As far as racing is concerned, having the Texas Motor Speedway a few exits from my house, I am not much of a racing fan since the traffic thickens and all thehillbillies flock to my neck of the woods, making for an area to avoid. Rally Master is to me the exact opposite in the spectrum of racing. It’s an all terrain, all weather event and you are not turning

By Chad Garrett, Thursday, Nov 12, 2009 | Today’s TiPb Top 5 will be directed towards our iPhone and iPod touch wielding readers who love racing games, and It’s a follow up to last years TiPb Grand Prix. Just like our other TiPb’s top 5 must-have posts, all of these applications are available in the App Store. For the full overview, follow us after the break! I am biased, this is without a doubt, my favorite iPhone racing game. If you like simulation-style handling in your racing games, you will love this game. There are no real cars (other than the Volkswagon GTI) or courses. However, the attention to detail in-car and on the track is the best you will see on the iPhone. Now, with a new lower price [$4.99 - iTunes Link], you can’t go wrong with Real Racing! Looking for a deep arcade racer on the iPhone? Look

Fishlabs’ top-notch rally racer for the iPhone and iPod touch, Rally Master Pro 3D, recently received a price drop, which should help it compete in the somewhat crowded racing game market in the App Store. Rally Master Pro 3D contains three different game modes, including a Career mode, that can be played across three difficulty settings. The game features 27 tracks with varying road and weather conditions, and you can watch replays of your races to see where you may have gone wrong. It also features touch- and tilt-based controls to suit any players needs, and an online leader board so you can see how you measure up against the rest of the rally racers out there. Rally Master Pro 3D sports some fantastic visuals that are really put to the test thanks to the game’s 3D damage modeling. This is rally racing after all, and your car is bound to

With all of the success stories coming out of the App Store, it's been pretty easy to forget the problem of piracy for most developers. Not so for Fishlabs, who've posted over on the Touch Arcade forums that their latest game, Rally Master Pro 3D, is experiencing a piracy rate. You read that right: supposedly 95% of the people playing the game on the iPhone haven't paid for it. There's probably a multitude of reasons why that is -- the app is $7 with no trial version, it's not a super-popular app quite yet (so one pirated copy on a popular message board is probably traveling farther than the copies coming off of the official App Store), and there are probably at least a few other factors in the mix that we don't know yet. Still, 95% is obviously pretty darn high for a platform that's supposed to only deliver software

Fishlabs released their first paid iPhone and iPod touch game on October 26th titled Rally Master Pro 3D. That first day of availability can be an exciting time for developers as they are constantly checking to see how well their app is performing sales wise and how well it is being received critically. In Fishlabs’ case, Rally Master Pro 3D performed relatively well sales wise and extremely well critically on its very first day of availability in the App Store, but sadly, another stat crept into view, which probably turned that exciting day into a very disappointing one. According to a post by Fishlabs CEO Michael Schade on the TouchArcade forums, Rally Master Pro 3D had a piracy rate of 95 percent on its first day of availability in the App Store, and as you would expect, he was not very happy about this particular stat: We think RMP is a polished

Fish Labs' long awaited rally racer that we first heard of back in August has finally arrived on the App Store. Originally a J2ME game released in 2008 that received rave reviews from mobile gaming sites, Rally Master Pro 3D [App Store] for the iPhone is completely remastered with four times the polygon count of the original with all kinds of additional visual effects. The extra once-over Fish Labs gave Rally Master Pro 3D is amazingly apparent from your first launch of the game. It looks absolutely gorgeous and can easily stand next to the other graphical marvels of the App Store. Your car is one of the best looking car models I've seen on the platform, the weather effects look excellent, the draw distance is far, and pop-in of scenery is minimal. From a technical standpoint, Rally Master Pro 3D is phenomenal. The game is controlled similar to other racing

This game isn't perfect, but it's the first driving game I can't put down. It is a good outdoor driving simulator for the rally fan. You have to turn off the copilot's voice or you will look for the grand theft auto button to punch him out if the car. I've never heard an Englishman say "hard" so many times. The sound effects are okay and there doesn't seem to be any vibration. The damage is a disappointment. I love to destroy a good car, but it happens too easily in an unsatisfying way. The analogue wheel is my favorite. The weather effects and graphics are very impressive and give this game an authentic feel.
Incredible game !!!!

OMG!!!! Don't hesitate on this one.
The BEST thing about this racing app is in the car's handling of CURVES. And treacharious one to boot! Let me tell ya, were talking complete U'z. But this car goes thru these curves like it's got super glue on the tires, yet at the same time you can tell the tires are just soft enough not to stick. Ah' baby! SWEET!!! I wish my vette handled the turns like these cars do..I've always admired the way a corvette goes thru turns, especially with Yokahama, low profile super soft tires. Yea! But this $6.99 car does drive better than my $$ vette. It's fun! Plus I also like how you are switched to ANOTHER TRACK once you're finished with the first one. And after you finish that second one you're switched to another new track. I can't go any further cause that's as far as I've gotten..but...so far..so GOOD!
Fantastic!

Better than Real Racing. I've ran my battery down twice since I got this game today!

Okay, first and foremost, this is a Rally game. Rally only. No opponents. It's time-trial based. You vs the track.
The roads are very narrow. Precision driving is required. Not suprisingly, precision driving through accelometer controls can be a little tricky to achieve. That goes for just about any racing game.
The easy/amatuer rally is doable with accelometer controls. The two levels above it, can say for sure. The roads are very tight and the handling can get a little loose.
You're car takes damage, but I'm not sure damage greatly affects the car's performance. Unfortunately, your car takes "damage" for sliding off the road, even if you don't hit anything. Now that's just dumb.
A lot of the tracks look more or less the same. Tracks mix surfaces well, but they don't stand out as each track seeming different.
There's no true cockpit view.
There's no car selection/customization.
Your partner gives very basic verbal commands. His role seems limited though.
The graphics are sharp. My framerate is stable, but I have a 3g iPod. I sense that RR kinda has a better draw distance than this.
The effort's fairly good here. I did find the gameplay to be reasonably engaging. I would say that 2XL offroad is probably a better investment (provided that you overcome 2XL's suspect controls, either by tweeking the defaults or with enough practice.)
NFS:S on the iphone looks remarkably similar to the console versions, based upon screen shots. If it's anything close, it will murder this game. At least in the US, where Rally racing has little to no support. Wait for Shift if your money is tight.
This game was really taylored to the UK AppStore anyway. I heard FishLabs is charging more for this app in UK then they are in the US.
