Read More

iPhone Camera App Roundup: I’m Ready for My Closeup
Mini_discussion_bubble TheAppleBlog - Posted Wed, 16 Feb 2011 20:02:30 UTC +00:00
A good camera app these days should not only take pictures, but allow the photographer to immediately edit and share them. Trying seven camera apps for the iPhone, I found all but one capable of taking decent pictures. That’s not too surprising, since all of them use the same hardware, but software still makes the difference. Most apps had more photo-capturing functionality than Apple’s Camera app, but not all had video. All apps but Camera had editing tools, and most had more sharing options than Apple’s own offering, but the best camera app is built around capturing, editing, and sharing as a unified process. Capture: HDREdit: NoneShare: Email, MobileMe, MMS Camera from Apple compares poorly to other photo apps in terms of features, with the big exception of HDR. High dynamic range photography automatically combines exposure levels from three captured images. In the above photo, Camera bested other apps in overcoming high Read More

Your iPhone Takes Stirring Long-Exposure Photos With This Magic App [Video]
Mini_discussion_bubble Gizmodo - Posted Tue, 21 Dec 2010 14:00:00 UTC +00:00
Sure, you've got your Hipstamatic filters and your ProCamera bag of tricks. But to capture truly ethereal slow-shutter speed shots and lithe light paintings, you're going to need Magic Shutter. It looks pretty amazing, and amazingly pretty. You can choose among front and rear-curtain sync effects in flash modes, meaning that the blur effect either tails or leads the sharp image. It's a creative blend of the iPhone's video and still camera, and may just elevate the app camera effects game from "hipster art" to "art art." While Magic Shutter does a terrific job of mimicking the blurry beauty of a long-exposure photo, you are a wee bit limited in output resolution because of limitations Apple puts on using the camera at full resolution for video. It's disappointing! But not so much, I'd guess, that it's a dealbreaker, especially at $3 and with an upgrade coming next month that promises improved Read More
ProCamera Version 3.0 hits the App Store
Mini_discussion_bubble iSource - Posted Tue, 14 Dec 2010 14:35:05 UTC +00:00
It was just two weeks ago that I posted my review of ProCamera version 2.95 from daemgen.net. I found it to easily be one of the top full function camera replacement apps in the App Store, but as with any app, there were a few areas for improvement. Well, ProCamera version 3.0 hit the App Store last Thursday, and it is definitely a major step forward. One of the features that I really liked about ProCamera in my previous review was the concise, but feature-packed screen layout. All of the necessary photo and video functions were easily understandable and accessible. Normally I would be wary of a major change to a winning formula, but version 3.0′s redesign of the camera interface screen makes a good photography app even better. Interface from Version 2.95 New Interface in Version 3.0 As you can see from the before and after screenshots, Mr Daemgen has Read More

Review: ProCamera for iPhone
Mini_discussion_bubble iSource - Posted Tue, 30 Nov 2010 21:30:55 UTC +00:00
With the sheer size and volume of Apple’s App Store, it is very easy to overlook a really nice piece of software. There are just so many coming out every day, that it is no easy task to keep up with all of them. Even those of us who are big iOS enthusiasts and write for blogs have a hard time keeping tabs on the flood of new apps that flows forth from Cupertino every day. Heck, there are entire websites and many apps devoted to just keeping up with new apps and apps on sale. This point was driven home to me several weeks ago when I was working on my review of Camera Duo for the iPhone. You see, my iPhone 4 was still running on iOS 4.0 at the time because I was jailbroken and didn’t want to risk upgrading and losing my jailbreak. I just wanted to Read More

ProCamera 2.6: Un’ottima applicazione per scattare foto e registrare video! | AppStore
Mini_discussion_bubble iPhone iSpazio - Posted Fri, 19 Feb 2010 18:41:57 UTC +00:00
Read More

Any iPhone Camera App is Better Than the Default App
Mini_discussion_bubble iSmashPhone - Posted Mon, 05 Oct 2009 13:33:18 UTC +00:00
By –   Finally, an iPhone camera app for those of us with incurably shaky hands. Although not the first of its kind, Pro-Camera‚Äôs anti-shake feature is at the head of other camera iPhone apps. The app‚Äôs accelerometer is the facet which helps stabilize the image while you‚Äôre getting ready to snap it, inadvertently producing better results. It won‚Äôt help you get into med school with your unsteady hands, but it‚Äôll definitely make it more bearable to show off your all-around cleaner, less blurry photos.   But make no mistake about it, we are also big fans of Snapture. ProCamera takes the iPhone camera that much closer to the real thing
Mini_discussion_bubble MobileCrunch - Posted Fri, 02 Oct 2009 17:57:28 UTC +00:00
iPhone OS 3.0 finally brought video functionality to everyone’s favorite Apple phone. It also enabled developers to add graphic overlays to the iPhone’s camera views thereby opening the door to new features such as augmented reality and other camera “tricks.” Thus, it’s come as no surprise that many new camera-focused apps have emerged, such as ProCamera, that are attempting to improve the overall photographic experience on the iCanDoAnything. ProCamera, available now for $3 in the App Store, is a self-described “advanced iPhone photography application” that adds “greater functionality and possibilities to the iPhone, [by] taking full advantage of all hardware and software ressources.” Sounds interesting, doesn’t it? In particular, ProCamera adds the following features to the iPhone camera: digital zoom, steady shot mode, tiltmeter (horizon guide), self-timer, big photo button, high speed saving, full screen preview v. autosave, grid-guide, macro mode (when combined with Griffin’s Clarifi Case), and a night images Read More

Google Voice Thoroughly Banned From the iPhone; So Much for an Open Platform
Mini_discussion_bubble Mashable - Posted Tue, 28 Jul 2009 09:43:48 UTC +00:00
by We’ve seen Apple ban applications from the App Store for all sorts of ridiculous reasons. This time, it’s different; all Google Voice related apps were banned from the app store, and this time Apple – or, more likely, AT&T – has a very good reason to ban them: it’s scared of them. Google Voice lets you do a lot of stuff for free that the AT&T charges for; you can place free calls in the US, you can send and receive free SMS messages. The application is still in beta, invite only stage, but several cool applications that use the service already exist for the iPhone. Sean Kovacs, the developer of GV Mobile, has said on his site that Apple has rejected the application. From his site: “Richard Chipman from Apple just called – he told me they’re removing GV Mobile from the App Store due to it duplicating features Read More
Seven Apps to Improve the iPhone’s Camera & Photos
Mini_discussion_bubble TheAppleBlog - Posted Wed, 27 May 2009 19:00:52 UTC +00:00
The iPhone’s 2-megapixel camera takes some all-right photos, but honestly, there’s a lot of room for improvement. A future model with a higher-resolution camera seems like a no-brainer (rumors point to 3.2-megapixel hardware), but for now, there are some excellent applications for getting the most out of the current iPhone cameras and the photos they produce. The applications I’ve been playing with either function as capture application replacements (for the in-built Camera app), or post processing applications to make your existing photos — whether from the iPhone camera, or loaded from a computer — pop just a little more. While most of the apps can function as Camera replacements, only some of them are designed specifically to produce better images as they are snapped. We’ll focus on these first. I’ve basically replaced my use of Camera app with Pro Camera. It utilizes the accelerometer to help you level your shots before Read More

Finally, a truly professional iPhone camera app.
creative paddler 5.0 stars Version: 3.5.1
ProCamera was recommended to me by my Canon rep! I am amazed at the features and quality I achieve with a few taps. Read the manual and explore all settings of this brilliantly-built photo app. I'll be blogging about this puppy!
Love it!

Techno-nut 5.0 stars Version: 3.5.1
I don't use the camera function but as an editor it really excels. Now with the unique album image browser, it is the best in the Store. No other app has this feature. And it includes viewing EXIF data. This is a superb app!
Gets better and better
Fluxgate 5.0 stars Version: 3.5.1
This is the best photo app in the app store.I had no idea how this app would evolve when I first purchased it a few years ago.But now it is fantastic, keep up the good work.
Good app.
Wingdinger2 4.0 stars Version: 3.5.1
There are numerous other apps that do pretty much what this does, but this is a very well featured camera app, AND photo editor. I think I like parts of Camera+'s UI better, but this is very nice and easy to use.
Still buggy!!!!!
WILLIS ROSS 1.0 stars Version: 3.5.1
I loved this app before. Issues still not fully corrected!!1. Shutter doesn't mute with the system sounds!!!! Can't use it to take picture of my baby girls sleeping. 2. The volume trigger option while working also adjusts the volume at the same time! Even in Silent mode. 3. Even if the phone is on Silent mode it still always plays the shutter sound!!
Great app!
Noam Katz 4.0 stars Version: 3.5.1
This is almost a perfect camera replacement app! Two things that would push it over the edge are: 1) to be able to delete photos from the built in photo album. 2) to have the volume buttons dedicated only to taking pictures while in the app and not allow them to simultaneously change the ringer volume.
Thanks for reverting icon
iphone4lah 5.0 stars Version: 3.5.1
As promised, here's your 5-stars rating because you way deserved it than the overrated Camera+ aka Camera-video ;)
Simply a fantastic update... Excellent!!!
Markarts 5.0 stars Version: 3.0
The new version just released is a MUST HAVE!!! The developers of this app have provided the iPhotographer with one of the best apps on the market. Everyone should have this in there toolbox... Kudos to the team on another winning release. Get it now!!!
Wow! What an update!
THX1965 5.0 stars Version: 3.0
This update is spectacular! With version 3.0 this app has been taken to a whole new level. I love the redesign. Everything is streamlined and simplified. Buttons and menus feel very responsive now. I love the one-button video recording with the new red recording light. We can now see the entire 16:9 widescreen window when we record in HD. This is by far the best photo/video app - and still the only one - to my knowledge - that allows you to lock-in exposure AND white balance for shooting photos and video. A MUST HAVE for anyone wanting to have more control over your built-in iPhone/iPod camera. It really does deserve the new Leica-like app icon!
This update blows my mind!
sarah0101 5.0 stars Version: 3.0
This app gets updated every few months. And every update brings so much cool new stuff. But this update is more than mind-blowing. It's now four or five apps in one. This is really THE best camera and photo editing app out there!
Highly recommended
JuniorMint84 5.0 stars Version: 2.9
Truly the best camera app out there - it replaced the standard app on my iPhone. Easy to use, I like the separation between "dummy" and expert mode. An app that simply works and looks beautiful.
WOW
SailAlong 5.0 stars Version: 2.7
This, is the best yet, and I have them all!
Worth the money!
Oshavano 5.0 stars Version: 2.7
I personally love this app. It allows me to take pictures while out in nature without having to get duper close to the animal(s) I'm trying to capture. The zoom is definitely worth the 3 bucks. I'd rather have this app, than no zoom ability, to help me take high quality photos! Definitely worth the 3 bucks for those who love to take pictures and just can't get enough!
Not worth the $3
SmashingSplendor 3.0 stars Version: 2.7
I'm practically obsessed with buying photo apps for the iPhone and since this had good reviews I thought I would try it out. I don't think it's worth spending $3 on. The quality of the pictures in the regular size mode was not the greatest, I've seen better on other camera apps. The pictures look better smaller. When I tried to take pics up close, they just turned out blurry. The zoom is okay, better than the zoom on some other apps, but still not great. I've been using the Camera Plus Pro app and love that one! I would def. recommend that one over this app.
Best Camera Software but Still Lacks
markbclimber 5.0 stars Version: 2.7
I've tried just about every camera replacement out there, and they all lack something. ProCamera is the best by a decent margin, and seems to be getting better with each release. One thing I've noticed about other camera apps, is that they lack some of the features of the iPhone's native camera app. No touch-to-focus, no video, no auto save, etc. Not the case with ProCamera - it has everything the native app has, and then some. Antishake is fantastic. I really like the changes in the new addition; so much so, I decided to write this review. They have made it easier to switch to video, change options, and see the album. Further, they added some basic photo correction capabilities to the album. Here's how to mow the competition over: - Add antishake to the video camera - Give a real HDR option in the photo app (hint, there are some open source HDR apps available) - Make an automatic level correction in the album (again, look at open source for inspiration) - Crop - I like panoramas, so adding that would replace one more app for me
Camera freak
Slullabye 5.0 stars Version: 2.7
Loving this app so far! Great pics!
Great photo & video app! My fav by far.
Greogory 4.0 stars Version: 2.7
I just replaced two other "top of the list " very good photo and video apps with the single Procamera app, gained more valuable screen real estate and I'm very happy. The photos and videos I've taken with Procamera are better than the ones made with the other apps I used, and application speed is better; faster saving and adjustable anti-shake settings for faster or more stable shots. The zoom works great, too, and I like that I can use either corner zoom buttons with one finger, or two finger pinching and spreading in the view screen. I have not tested whether zooming works during a video, but if it does then I really can't think of any reason to use two good standalone apps, when Procamera can do everything in a single app. If zoom doesn't work while filming a video, then that's a feature request I strongly make. The camera library photo editing features are simple and work well as described. I'm happier with fewer options which really work, than with a million option of which I'll use only one or two, or else the funtion quality is just mediocre. Less is more if the few items are implemented very well, and in Procamera they are. The only aesthetic thing I would ask to change is that in the settings menu, when you select one of the grids and / compass, the buttons are greyed when they ARE selected, but they're bold when they're NOT selected, which I find confusing. To me, if a button is bold then I think it should be the selected option. So my suggestion is just to reverse the greyed out vs bold display when a button's feature is activated. The team's customer support is terrific, too. I had a newbie question about calibrating my horizon and Ali sent me a perfect reply within just a few hours. He was courteous, professional and patient in his answer to what was, truly, a stupid question. But he made me feel valued as a customer and did not talk down to me. Great customer service experience for me, and I hope Ali gets a recognition for his professionalism.
Make it a 5 star app!
The.Stranger 5.0 stars Version: 2.7
Please get rid of the shake to get into video mode. This is silly and sometimes takes several shakes. Replace this with a button or toggle switch. Replace the 2 button zoom with a slider control and make the zoom smoother. Also, and this might be considered nitpicking, but your icon is ugly. These gripes aside, this is a great app which I have chosen (after using several others), to replace the native iPhone camera app. Thanks. UPDATE: Now 5 stars, thanks for listening to your customers. All my gripes have been fixed (except for the icon, but I can live with that). Highly recommended!
Every feature that I want in a camera app... and more!
someguycalledmarty 5.0 stars Version: 2.7
ProCamera is about precision and giving you unprecedented control of your images in an iPhone app. I’m amazed at how seamlessly all of the new features are integrated. Full-res digital zoom, not in-app cropping! This can be toggled from the apps settings -- I believe this is the only app that gives you the choice. Very nice! A ton of other well-integrated features. Another excellent update! Again, if you’re looking for a camera replacement app and like the features ProCamera lists, the app is rock-solid, well-implemented and the new features make it well worth $2.99. The new 2.7 update adds several great, well-done features to this already excellent camera app. =M=
Good solid app. Has replaced the native camera app on my phone
woogathering in singapore 4.0 stars Version: 2.7
Really like the anti-shake, the grid lines, the level. Those three combined have dramatically improved the photos I can take with the camera. It saves a bit slowly, but I can live with that. Now if it gave you the ability to shrink photos for sending them easily via email, it would do everything I need.
Great app!
Quad Aruzzi 5.0 stars Version: 2.7

Almost perfect

The last update was awesome. The only thing I would like to see is the video access trade places with the timed photo button. That would be absolutely perfect.

DISCLAIMER - I was provided a code for this app and I promised to do a review. First - Does it crash or not do what it says it does? No crashes and does what it says. So it gets at least 3 stars in my book Second - Is it hard to use, slow, or somehow crippled? No, it works fast, I figure out the majority of features with reading any instructions and I thought it was easy to use. Up to 4 stars in my book! Third - Does it lack something important and how does it compare with other apps? The hard question. I have used nightcamera and gorillacam (free) a fairbit so I admit to mentally comparing with those apps. Nightcamera has a couple of features procamera doesn't have, but for my main purpose (zoom, shake, delay, grid lines) I find Procamera easier to use. I find the price a bit steeper in the world of 99 cent apps though. I would really like to give this app 4.5 but can't ; so I round up to 5 stars. If you purchase it dor doing what it says you will be satisfied I think
Pretty Good!

I own several camera apps and image editing apps (about 12). I find that as for all iPhone photograpy apps out there, there are those apps that are great cameras, and some are great image editing apps, but it is difficult to find an app that has everything. This one is a great basic camera app with video. It comes with anti-shake, and full-rez zoom, tap and hold to focus, full screen camera button, fast saving and a grid for alignment. Photos are sharp and it is easy to use. One great feature is the inclusion of the video app. Now this can really replace the stock Apple camera. Is it worth the price? Absolutely. This could become you're go-to camera app above all others, except....what is missing for this to be complete camera suite, is the editing and filters. My biggest priorities in a camera app are sharp pictures (anti-shake), tap to focus, full resolution, and perhaps some exposure compensation for low light shots. Overall, this is a great camera app and it does what it does, well. My new #1 camera! Will still use Photoshop for editing. In comparison, my other favorite photography apps are Camera Genius (no filters, no video, but similar features as Pro Camera); Shiningworks G700 (great interface with plenty of editing features, but very slow and no video); and Photohop (great editing but minimal quality in the camera app and no video).

Amazing! Does everything I need it to do. It took me a while to figure out the shake for video or camera roll but, once I did, this replaced my Apple cam and the redundant, superfluous photos app.
Excellent app

ProCamera enhances the iPhone's camera and allows you to take much better photos. You have more control of the camera, and I love the feature that allows you to tap the screen to take a shot. Great app and worth the money.
Awesome app! Great anti-shake feature
Max2004 5.0 stars Version: 2.6
I have shaky hands and the antishake feature makes all my photos nonblurry. The zoom capability is awesome when used with the leveler and grid. Looking for the perfect shot, then this is the camera for you, at least it was for me.
Standing 'O' for ProCamera!

Now with manual focus for the 3GS, ProCamera is the BEST iPhone 3GS camera app. Default iPhone camera app to the back page, and ProCamera to the home screen. : ) Thanks ProCamera! Perfection!
Not bad app
coprime 4.0 stars Version: 2.6
This is a good camera app, much better than Apple's. Two of my favorite features are the timer and anti-shake. It could be better though. The camera roll is missing a lot of features, such as the ability to scroll through images, delete images, watch videos, send images to MMS/Assign to Contact/Wallpaper. For this you'll have to use Apple's image viewer. Having to shake the phone to view the Camera Roll/Video Camera menu is a bad UI design, a button to access this menu would be better. The app does auto focus, but it's not as responsive as Apple's. And saving also takes a few secs, while Apple's is almost instantaneous. The zoom feature is nice as well, but the quality is not that great (though the actual iphone camera has a lot to do with this). Overall, it's probably the best camera app you'll find for the iphone.
Superb! - now go for the gold...
mattr99 4.0 stars Version: 2.6
Searched all cam apps, very happy with this one. Excellent anti-shake, rock-solid coding, good zoom implementation, vg photo quality & speed of saves. Get this cam app, you won't regret it. But... To get the 5-star gold, you definitely need: -Rule of thirds grid!!!!!! Current grid is way too busy, annoying & useless. A major annoyance with your app, and SO EASY to fix. Add new grid as an option. -Full feature access to the photo roll, allowing scroll between photos, delete, seeing/grouping only vids or only photos, all this from within the app, so we don't have to keep switching back & forth. Hope the Apple SDK allows this. -Shake to access vidcamera/photo roll should be a secondary option only. Allow another way, please, that is more reliable, more consistent, and less dorky to use:) -Even better zoomed-in photo quality and low-light performance. You gave us the Mpixels, now code that noise-reduced quality!!! Blow the competing 'flash' implementations away. -Allow true manual exposure adjustment, a few f-stops up or down. Great for backlit situations... -Burst mode needed, that is easy to use, 3 pix is fine for starters. Check what GorillaCam is offering here (for free). Also, if you keep shutter button depressed, it should keep taking pix. Don't worry, we will then wait for them all to be properly saved! -Time-lapse mode needed, with a settable interval. Again, see how GorillaCam does this wonderfully. Great for cam-unattended party pix, taken over a few hours. And finally, please give this app an icon that will not make me ashamed to have it on my first page, replacing Apple's cam. Make the icon simpler and classier. Thank u developers, great work so far, now we need u to go that extra mile, to remain in the lead of cam apps! These features will give u that fifth star, and will render all other camera apps unnecessary - ProCamera will then DO IT ALL!.....
Best camera app and gets better with every update
sarah0101 5.0 stars Version: 2.6
This app is the best camera app I can imagine. I only use this app because I make way better pictures with it. Now it also has video recording and an integrated photo album. In version 2.6 they integrated tap to focus which was the last missing piece to perfection! I think it's absolutely great how they combined it with the big photo button.
Just missing a few things.
NiMO Rocks 4.0 stars Version: 2.5
Good update to 2.5, but still missing a few things to fully replace the 3gs camera on the first page. All of the features of the app works well. Just need a few more and it will earn the last star: - support 3gs touch focus and exposure - multiple rapid exposures (with an option to use reduced resolution for the highest speed) - display exposure, aperture, iso - change aforementioned parameters - in camera noise reduction for high iso shooting - complete exif info - panoramic support by overlaying previous pictures in viewfinder - white balance (custom??) Actually the program just needs the first three and I will give it 5 stars. :)
ProCamera 2.5 update makes this a great camera replacement
someguycalledmarty 5.0 stars Version: 2.5
Full-res digital zoom, not in-app cropping! This can be toggled from the apps settings -- I believe this is the only app that gives you the choice. Very nice! Save speed seems faster than previous versions. They did a great job on this update! If you're looking for a camera replacement app and like the features ProCamera lists, the app is rock-solid, well-implemented and worth $2.99 USD.

Tom359 4.0 stars Version: 2.0
I downloaded the current version (2.1) based on the positive reviews. I have had a chance to experiment with the features and I must say that I am pretty impressed with the quality of the zoom feature. Other apps seem to interpolate WAY too much, producing a blurry image. My test pictures have been suprisingly good, even using quite a bit of zoom. The stabilization feature works as expected.....I was actually pleased that it didn't require you to be as still as a statue to take the picture. Seems to be a nice compromise. I emailed the developer because I didn't seem to have the same version as the demo video on their website. I recieved a response it 20 minutes with the explanation that a new version is pending Apple's approval and that is whay they used in the demo. (That version was able to use the "focus box" on the 3gs). Once I am able to set the balance using the focus box, I would give this 5 stars. I have tried most of the other camera apps, and this is very nice.

baldguru 5.0 stars Version: 2.0
I take a lot of photos. I believe in the truth that 'the best camera is the one you have with you...' I also believe the best APP is the one that lets you get the pic without getting in the way! This app does that better than any of the many I've used on my 3Gs. And the support when I made an inquiry was super fast and right on point. Can't wait for the improvements I've been told are in the pipeline. Outstanding app, developers with integrity - a winning combo! So glad I bought the app rather than the negatve reviews! ;-)

Most Useful Feature Selection
TJLOEB 5.0 stars Version: 2.0
I have tried every camera app offered I think and Procamera is far and away the best. It's selection of features enables you To get the most out of the iPhone's capablities. Once you have the image you want there are a number of other apps that will allow you to postprocess it to get the end results you want, but as pro photographers are telling everyone, "get the shot right in the camera first" and Procamera greatly aids in doing just that.

My only request is to have the option to disable the "big button". There are instances where I would like to tell the camera WHERE to focus (like with the native app). I think this is a MUST. I will apdate to 5 stars when this feature is implemented. Other than that, great app.
ProCamera is an excellent app but missing some things compared to Apple’s Camera app
Robert Hutwohl 4.0 stars Version: 2.0
In this 2.1 version of the app, the stabilization and digital zoom features are highly desired extensions of Apple’s built-in Camera, like evolving an extra couple of fingers on your hand. Digital zoom is needed as long as the user realizes optical zoom is better as the quality is not degraded as with digital or software zoom but zoom is great for macro shots. Also, the stabilization feature in this app has to be one of its best tricks, as the shutter only opens when the iPhone is stable enough to produce a good quality photo, which is not the case with Apple’s app. There are some key problems though with the ProCamera which may not bother other users. Apple’s Camera incorporates ISO, focal length, shutter speed and most importantly: GPS coordinates, all which are important when importing photos into the most recent release of iPhoto so that one can use the geo-push pins to note where the photo was taken. Hopefully the developer will continue to expand an app which is worth every bit of $3.
Stable with no crashes, not 1!
rduatc 5.0 stars Version: 1.2
I almost did not buy this app based on reviews here. I'm glad that I tempered that with some of the positive reviews. I read the instructions and rebooted the phone both before and after installation and it has worked flawlessly without a single crash. I have taken multiple pictures before the camera was done saving the previous photo and have not lost one picture. I do not dispute that some may have had problems, but I can say I have not experienced any, not one. In fact I have never used a camera app that did not have even the occasional glitch until this one. I would like to request a "rule of thirds" optional overlay, and perhaps a photo review option, but only if it does not interfere with the stability of the app. The future introduction of a zoom capabilty will further increase the useability of this camera. I highly recommend this app.
Love the Shake-free precision indicator
sheepiedog 5.0 stars Version: 1.2
I like this app for what it does. I have a problem with being a bit shaking sometimes when I am taking a picture. I chose the setting HIGH in the Shake-free precision indicator and it really has helped me get a clearer picture. It takes a bit longer because it is waiting for the camera to be perfectly still, but I found out that if I bring my elbows close to my sides, it seems to steady it better and therefore takes a little less time to get the best shot.
One of the best purchases I have made!
redrider67 5.0 stars Version: 1.2
Amazes me the number of people who write a review and can't follow simple instructions on how to use an app! Pictures look a lot better and they are saved to the camera roll you just have to wait a few seconds. I took a picture of a Luna Moth which are generally not in my area and it turned out awesome and it may be on my local news channel!

Unnecessary Limitation - UPDATE
I'm All In 5.0 stars Version: 1.2
I promised to change to 5 stars after allowing the timer to be as short as 1sec. Now I truly love this ap!!! Why is the shortest timer time 4sec and not 1sec or zero to turn it off? One way to use the timer is to release the shutter and then concentrate to steady the camera as quickly as possible for a fast and sharp picture. 1sec timer is perfect for that. Heck, with 4 seconds the dog has run off or the bird has flown away! Please adjust this for 5 stars from me.

While trolling for a new photo app I came across a favorite of mine and saw that it was only rated 3 stars I was amazed, so I decided to write a favorable review. This is the photo app I use the most, it combines several other apps into one and all of the key features work well, the timer, the anti-shake, and the press any where all work very well. Plus the lens has cross hairs just like a 35mm, so no more cockeyed pic's. Being an app junkie, app realestate can get tight so any app that multitasks is highly prized. As with any app that uses large amounts of memory it is best to refresh your iPhone before using the program, if I crash during use this is my cure. Lt.GW 5.0 stars Version: 1.2
This app is far and away the most intuitive camera app. I tried and used the other top selling steady shot app for many months. This app smokes that one. Besides the level indicator, preview option, typical 3 sensitivity choices, timer and auto save, ProCamera has 2 features that really set it apart. 1. Is the background save, which allows you to grab another pic while one is being saved. And this feature is quick! This app saves pics much quicker than the others. No comparison. 2. The choice of using the anti-shake feature to shoot the pic (using the camera icon bottom center) or the instant shot by touching anywhere on the picture window. This feature has saved me from losing great pics...the other top selling camera app makes you use one or the other. I have missed good pics with the other app because I wasn't steady enough or the kids were moving too much. With ProCamera, you will never miss a pic! Finally, the pics are clear and sharp.

This app is sensationally easy to use and yields excellent image quality. Beyond this - it is the fastest third party camera app available on the appstore. I've tested 4 other cam apps and this is my favourite. I should have bought it first but the price discouraged me at first. But because the other cheap apps kept crashing or/and were unfriendly to use I decided to give this app a try. And it's totally worth it.
