This is a great product that allows you to safely browse the internet or ensure that your child safely browses the internet. The developers are very dedicated to improving the product and are very welcoming to feedback. They are also quick to respond and resolve any concerns that you have. The browsing experience is very nice and while there are a few hiccups on small things that you take for granted with Safarri, it is a good user expereince. I would highly recommend this product to anyone.

Finally I can say something good about this one. My mom wouldn't let me use safari. I used to hate it. But the latest update fixed a lot of the problems. Page loading is zippy... tabs are smooth... I can save images. It is still over blocks at times. But I can live with that.

I had a hard time convincing my parents to get an itouch. Finally convinced them after my nerd friend showed Mobicip to them on his ipod. I never really liked the browser before this update. Now this is an awesome replacement for Safari. You guys are doing a great job.

The update addresses almost all the cons I mentioned in my previous review. Icon was changed, tabs supported (unlike Safe Eyes, without crashes), faster than before though slower than Safari, and most websites simply work! Earns my 5-stars this time.

This app originally was mediocure at best. In dire need of two things (to make it a usable replacement to safari) tabs and cookies (my email won't open without them) I planned to write the creators about this, but they beat me to it, new update makes this app perfict. Nothing less then perfict. I also like the new logo, well worth the money, works great at blocking sites. Thanks guys.

This App used to be painstakingly slow, and I had the biggest problem getting email and bank info without cookies--plus tabless browsing was ANNOYING. However, I used it because I didn't want unfiltered Internet and this was the best option I could find filter-wise. With this latest update, quality updates have really made it a worthwhile buy. Still not so fast as Safari, but fast enough, and tabs and cookies are a big relief. It seems like these developers are really working to make this a quality App. Well worth my $5.

One of the best aspects of Mobicip is actually not in the app itself: it's the great customer service. After leaving a message on the customer support page, I got an extensive, helpful reply in no time. The solid service and the robust software make this a great app for anyone seeking a safe Internet experience on their iPhone.

They have made some good changes in last update. Pros 1. Can't search google pics anymore. That alone helps. 2. Does a better job of filtering searches, removes key words from search. 3. Added a subscrition service to help user fine tune filtering. Cons 1. Unlike some PC software it does not allow a safe search on only mode for search engines. However this does make it much safer for a child since safe searching isn't completely safe either. 2. An adult can't search for things like porn filter. Porn is removed from te search. Some PC software does a better job by scanning the site before viewing and blocking by determing a word score. 3. Filtering needs to be more intuitive.

While I haven't thoroughly put this through the ringer yet, the new enforcement of Google Strict Safesearch is a welcome improvement - I haven't been able to find a flaw. I think I'll let my 14yo try it out and report back ;-)

Apple, please feature this app in Education!

I am surprised that Apple (and Mobicip) has not promoted this as a featured app for education, since it does everything required by schools. This is by far the most mature internet filtering app that I have tested so far on the iPod Touch. It is very effective and my staff couldn't break the filtering after hours of trying.

This update is a GREAT IMPROVEMENT! I had given the first version a harsh one star review because the application did not do a good job blocking image searching on the various image search engines. But after playing with this new application for several hours, I am impressed. It is by far the best content filtering browser for the iphone. It does the best job out of the box. There are still a few things on my wish list, but it is worth 5 stars just like it is.

I have had this app for a while now as my 9-year old son uses my iPhone a lot. It is pretty good and blocked all websites that I thought were not appropriate for his viewing. I am happy with their support too - they promptly responded to a couple of questions I had. Overall, an impressive app for a reasonable price..

Watch out. This browser does not force Google's Strict Safesearch feature. It took my 14yo about 5 minutes to figure this out. As soon as Mobicip fixes this, I'll upgrade my review to 4 or 5 stars. Until then, this is just a false sense of security...

I am quite impressed with the app as it blocked all websites that I thought were not appropriate for his viewing. While I was skeptical after reading some of the reviews, I gave it a try and I was not disappointed. The only comment I have is that it blocks some legitimate sites. I have reported this to their support.

Got this for a young teen with a new iPod Touch. The web site made it sound like it would allow web browsing with a filter, but in fact this is just a canned portal that only allows access to a very limited number of web sites--as in fewer than 10. Total waste of $5. Discovered SafeEyes for the iPhone and iPod shortly afterwards and am completely pleased with it, and it was a reasonable $20. Allows filtered web browsing time limits, time of day limits, emailing of logs, etc.

You kids will be able to access lots of explicit porn if you rely on this application to filter the Internet. In about 10 minutes I was able to access about 20 explicit images. This application does not block image searching, and even in "safe" mode Google let's a lot of explicit images through. But other image search engines are even less restrictive than Google. I found that mobicip I only blocked the most obvious words. I have reported this to mobicip, maybe they will update the application, but for now it is worthless. You are kidding youself if you think this is going to protect your kids.

It looks pretty, and it has a good price. It's better than most of the browser replacements so far, an I like it better than Safe Eyes. It isn't very configurable, though. I really don't know whether to select elementary, Junior high or high school. Is it just me, or is that too simplistic? My big complaint is that it seems very slow, noticably slower than Safari which is not exactly fast. Using it just seems a little painful.

I have both this browser and SafeEyes and each has their own advantages and disadvantages. Mobicip does not block images well. It only blocks a page if there is inappropriate text on the page. However, SE has the same issue. The one thing that I do like about Mobicip is that it does do dynamic blocking (based on text on the page and not just based upon a listing of URLs). I also like that you can set the filter levels from grade school, to junior high, to high school. There support is very helpful. I have been told that there are a number of enhancements in the works (including accountability) so I believe it will turn out to be one very good product!

I've used it extensively, and while it does a great job, as a browser it needs work. 1. Tabs would be nice 2. The list of links it automatically opens should be an interface, not a page that annoyingly needs opening every time 3. You NEED cookies. I hate having to log into forums every time I visit them. 4. Take a hint from Apple's own parental controls and block by page instead of site. There's some forums that are 99% clean but I can't visit them because of that one post. 5. Finally, you should give the option of typing in the password to allow previously blocked sites.

I've been folowing this app since November when it was still I'm private beta and I have to say it's a huge dissapointment!!!! I am only keeping it for my neice but I got openDNS for my house (it's free opendns.com) the pages take forever to load and hal. Of the websites I goto aren't displayed right but I'm going to holdout for an update.

This app is great. We did not want to completely take away internet access for our 13 year old on her iPod but felt it necessary to restrict access. The iPod itself only allows you to completely block Safari so we were super happy to find Mobicip.She has enough access and we are less worried about what she may be able to access on the internet. Plus it's free!! I highly recommend.

Highly recommend this app. It works much better than Safeeyes. It can get on public wifi where you have to read an agreement and sign......safeeyes won't let you view the agreement so your automatically blocked.. BEST PART---its free!!! I have only tried this for a few mins but already can tell the performance is much better than safeeyes!

I downloaded this app and is very happy with its filtering capability. Browser speed is very fast. Mobicip logo occupies more than required real estate which I think should be fixed in the updated version. I'm waiting for their updated version to be able to customize my settings.
