Much like , was crushed under the might of the EA holiday sale. obviously is the sequel to [99¢ / Lite / HD], a gear-grinding puzzle game which has enjoyed millions of downloads during its life on the App Store. I explained what makes awesome in our review: The challenge comes from the limited set of gears available for each level, in addition to obstacles in each level such as crossed off areas where gears can't be placed but the can be dropped in to. While it all might sound fairly easy, it won't take long until you're flat out stumped on a level, and are left sitting there desperately trying to figure out how in the world to position the two gears you're given with the five you have to spin.

You might have played it from PC, and this is the same, just ported to iPhone: Cogs is a puzzle game where you will move cogs, pipes, and such to activate a mechanism. Geared is a small puzzle game that forces the player to take different size gears and combine them in order to power the blue gears in the level. In order to do this, players have a selection of gears to drag into the area. There is a yellow gear that is constantly running and users must stack each gear in a way that will eventually catch the blue gear and spin it. Tremendously engaging and fun game. The mechanics of placing the gears is sometimes frustrating but so what, the game is terrific. Should have one sentence added to the first instructional screen indicating that you draw new gears into the game by tapping and holding on the numbers at the bottom that indicate the number of remaining gears in each size in a given puzzle. Not knowing this led to an extremely frustrating first few minutes tapping and double tapping wildly anywhere without any result whatsoever.

OK, so I got through all 80 levels in 3 days and can't wait for more.
My only gripe is that the game is bit more precise than I think it should be - in some cases you need to drop a gear a slight fraction of a millimeter to the left or right. That's pretty hard to do if you have big fingers using the iPhone.

For all you people stuck on lvl 43 heres what you do~
Stack 4 of the small gears from the spinning gear to the bottom left blue gear so its on the right side of it about the same height.
Then place the big gear ontop of the last small gear, now that the small gear is hanging to the right a lil u place the big gear there to reach the right gear.
Now just stack the last gear ontop of the big gear to reach the top left gear.
If it doesnt work put them all back and do it over again because you have to be close to exact for it to work.

This is not a puzzle. It should be called "drop gears on screen and that's it". It's probably the easiest "puzzle" I have ever downloaded. Only slightly interesting for about 10 minutes. Take note of other reviews where they say they solved it in 3 hrs. 80 levels in 3 hours says it all.

This is a game that will fit right into your physics library. There is a ton of content, with an excellent ever increasing degree of difficulty. Simply place the given gears onto the non-snap grid with a goal of making the final gear turn. This game is cleverly built to offer a wide wide variety of challenges for you to conquer. I bought this game out of curiosity, and on my first play I made it through the first 30 levels or so before I was able to put it down. A very fun little game -- I recommend it!
