This should come in especially handy over the next few weeks as the NCAA Men's Basketball Championship unfolds in cities across the country. The NCAA Tourney is an annual rite in the United States. It is one of those events that brings people together as brackets are filled out, wagers made and winners sought. By Jeff Scott on March 15th, 2010 Here's a quick round-up of some apps that can help you this week. Some to fill out your brackets, and one to even help you catch the games. This week, historically, is the most important week of the year for the college basketball fan. It all starts with Selection Sunday when the field of 64 (or 65 as it is now) is announced. Then, college basketball fans worldwide struggle for the next 3.5 days to fill out their brackets. And finally, Thursday comes around and the first game tips off. From there it’s 4 straight days of basketball nirvana. Here’s a quick round-up of some apps that can help you enjoy this week. Some to fill out your brackets with, and one to even help you catch the games when away from a TV. CBS Sports NCAA® March Madness on Demand® is back for Read More

Many in North America are still reeling from this weekend’s Daylight Savings Time change, and as I understand it, folks in Europe and Asia will enjoy a similar experience in the near future. There’s no experience like that of March Madness here in the U.S. though. Every year at this time, we participate in an exciting and wild nationwide college basketball tournament. The three week event gathers fans all across the country, mainly due to the popularity of “NCAA pools” where would-be fortune tellers attempt to predict the winners. All in all, it’s a hectic event — possibly more for the observers than the players. Since we’re always on the go, here’s a number of ways to follow March Madness on a mobile. 1. 1) amazingly easy to create your own bracket within the app instead of having to go to the hosts website to design (cbssports). 2) free--and it's the best one out there!! Well done, ESPN!!! And thank you!!

You start making picks the MOMENT the app opens. Signing up for an espn account takes literally 30 seconds. It's easier and simpler than printing a bracket and finding a pen. CBS could learn a lot from the mac specialists that work for ESPN. I really hope we get a similar app like this when the world cup rolls around in June...
