"Gift This App" appears in the app store

When the 2010 baseball season began, I knew I wanted to buy MLB At Bat for a friend. Unfortunately there was no way to do that directly, so I had to settle for a Gift Certificate. Then I discovered that Gift Certificates are only available in $10 increments, starting at $10 and ending at $50. As of today, that will no longer be a problem. Apple has introduced "Gift This App" for iPhone/iPod touch apps. Simply click on the dropdown menu next to "Buy App" to find the "Gift This App" link. Unfortunately it does not seem to be enabled (yet?) for all apps. When I checked the CBS Sports NCAA app the Gift This App option did not appear. Then there is the question of what happens if you try to buy an app for someone who already has it? What if you try to send an app to someone Read More

By Jeff Scott on March 15th, 2010 Here's a quick round-up of some apps that can help you this week. Some to fill out your brackets, and one to even help you catch the games. This week, historically, is the most important week of the year for the college basketball fan. It all starts with Selection Sunday when the field of 64 (or 65 as it is now) is announced. Then, college basketball fans worldwide struggle for the next 3.5 days to fill out their brackets. And finally, Thursday comes around and the first game tips off. From there it’s 4 straight days of basketball nirvana. Here’s a quick round-up of some apps that can help you enjoy this week. Some to fill out your brackets with, and one to even help you catch the games when away from a TV. CBS Sports NCAA® March Madness on Demand® is back for Read More

Many in North America are still reeling from this weekend’s Daylight Savings Time change, and as I understand it, folks in Europe and Asia will enjoy a similar experience in the near future. There’s no experience like that of March Madness here in the U.S. though. Every year at this time, we participate in an exciting and wild nationwide college basketball tournament. The top 65 teams battle between the baskets in a bracketed elimination competition — win and you move on; lose and you go home. The three week event gathers fans all across the country, mainly due to the popularity of “NCAA pools” where would-be fortune tellers attempt to predict the winners. All in all, it’s a hectic event — possibly more for the observers than the players. Since we’re always on the go, here’s a number of ways to follow March Madness on a mobile. 1. Possibly the BEST App in ITunes

I downloaded the lite version, and IMMEDIATELY purchased this. I do my brackets on CBSSports.com, and can follow those, the real tournament, plus highlights, video on demand and LIVE GAMES ON THE GO! Well worth the money for this app. I'd give it six stars if I could.
Awesome app for March Madness!

Can't believe I can watch every game anywhere with this app, even on 3G or EDGE. The radio is awesome too, and I can even make my bracket picks. Check out this app, it even will have the selection show and covers conference tournament games as well.
Bring on the games!

I had been waiting anxiously for this app to come out and I'm so glad it's finally here! Talk about some major upgrades from last year, live video of all the games over 3g, push notifications and my personal favorite, bracket pool access! Finally a simple and safe way to get around my company's firewall to watch the games, thanks CBS!!
I won't be missing the tournament this year!

If you love March Madness, this is the ultimate app. I had this last year. Live video streaming was awsome. Being able to watch any game and switch back and forth was incredible. Well worth the price.
Loved it last year
bensdad21 5.0 stars Version: 1.0
My only complaints last year were no streaming on 3g(fixed) and no ability to track CBS sports brackets within the app(fixed). I am beyond excited about this because now I will be able to watch all the games live without even having to call in sick! Sweet!!!
This madness

The app is looking sweet. Can't wait to plug my teams in for my pool (always run on CBSSports.com). Going to setup shop for the opening round games and flip between the games. Go SYRACUSE!!!!
