Every Halfbrick app I’ve used on my iPhone has impressed me, and Age of Zombies Anniversary is no different. Age of Zombies Anniversary is a shoot ‘em up game in a zombie apocalypse, featuring both Story and Survival mode. Within seconds of playing Story mode, I was already impressed with the humorous dialogue. You play as Barry, just your average guy trying to stop an evil professor from creating zombies. The goal is simple: use guns, grenades, and power ups to kill a certain number of zombies in an arena-type map. Like other shoot ‘em ups, there isn’t much exploration involved, but the fast paced action and achievements both give you motivation to play. Can you believe it’s been one year already since Halfbrick released Age of Zombies onto iOS? I certainly can believe it because I remember reviewing it last year. To celebrate Age of Zombies’ release on iOS, Halfbrick has released Age of Zombies Anniversary which includes some neat features not available in the original Age of Zombies. One of the first things updated for Age of Zombies Anniversary was the game’s graphics. Don’t get me wrong – the graphics in the original Age of Zombies looked nice, but Halfbrick has officially brought the Age of Zombies experience into the HD-era by fine tuning all of the graphics to give that pleasing-to-the-eye HD look. Believe it or not, we are getting into the start of the holiday season, and that means tons of action on the App Store as people head over to buy apps for their new devices. There are a bunch of exciting new apps to check out today, so here's a quick list: Man, that's a whole lot of great games! This isn't even all of the app releases out this week, and my guess is that we haven't even seen the biggest flood of new apps -- that usually comes around Thanksgiving, and then ramps up again right as Apple freezes the store before Christmas. Whoa, it's Wednesday again. Unfortunately, Brad is still lost to the world of Skyrim, I'm standing on top of a mountain of bodies in MW3, and Jared is, I don't know, watching a Giants game or something. Regardless, we're pulling it all together for this week's pile of game releases. There's some great games out this week too, including a few highly anticipated titles as well as a few surprises… And even some highly anticipated titles we were surprised to see released so soon.
